Has anyone actually read the info? It literally doesn’t say we’re expecting to only sign Sess.

He clearly says that he's only confident on Sessegnon which is a long stretch from all the positive ITK etc from numerous others only a week or two ago.

No need to lose our heads but this sounds way too familiar. :)

Sess being the only transfer makes some sense , only if , Eriksen signs a new deal & commits.

I cannot see even Levy sitting silent letting Eriksen run down the contract & us not signing anyone as replacement.

Personally, feel we will bring in 2 atleast. Lets see.

Levy gets excited by the business but not the football. I just dont think he gets the magic of a star player

After all these years you guys should know not to have expectations, it makes things so much easier when they don't go to plan and anything else is a bonus (y)

100% can see us springing a Sissokoesque surprise on Thursday. I look forward to the ITK, it's what makes this site so special.

I'm sticking to Valyids earlier post today and stay positive.

I think we will get Sessegnon wrapped up tomorrow and get either Lo Celso or Fernandes on deadline day.

Go on slap me so hard with those optimistic rainbows that I look like I'm off to Pride.

That's true indeed. However, there does seem to be a common pattern every summer in which every bit of ITK gradually becomes less and less confident, so people are naturally going to get a little edgy (okay, very edgy).

I've been very positive so far and I do think Levy is always ready for last-minute deals but this is not the season to be dicing or hedging bets.

This window -- coming off the back of an appearance in a CL Final and a world-record profit, with the stadium completed and massive commercial sponsorships wrapped up -- represented an absolutely massive opportunity for the club. The manager, who undoubtedly deserves full backing, entered into the window explicitly calling for a rebuild.

If the best Levy can do is to bring in a six-months-belated replacement for our best midfielder and two teenagers while likely selling one of our most influential players, he genuinely needs to be stripped of any responsibility over transfers.

Ali Z says

From what i hear only confident on Sess getting over line, not saying we won't do others but am 95% sess will happen.

That’s a shocking window if true, especially as it looks like eriksen will be going. Serious questions need to be answered if so.

Problem is though, if that includes Eriksen leaving it's still been a very average window considering we were told that lessons had been learned and Poche would finally be fully backed.

I couldn't agree more sir. Big few days ahead here

Won't kick off until we see how the window shakes out - who knows, the club could still salvage this and make this one of our best transfer windows ever (albeit, my gut instinct is that they won't do the necessary) - but if Ali's info turns out to be right and we only sign Ndombele and Sessegnon (not counting Clarke away on loan) then Levy will be guilty of dereliction of duty, IMO, real 'falling asleep at the wheel' incompetence.

Last summer we had the arguments that Pochettino didn't want alternatives and so it's possible he might have been just as much the reason why Summer 2018 was the disaster it was, but in the interviews that Poch has given in the last year and since moving into the new ground about wanting to do things differently, then it will be clear to me that if Ali turns out to be correct the only blockage in the system can be Levy and the board. And in those circumstances I wouldn't care whether it's lack of desire or lack of ability to get the deals done: we simply need a management team that can bring in players who at very least prevent our squad from getting worse, with the not unreasonable expectation of bringing in players who actually make our squad better.

Like I say, all bets are off until the window closes, but if Ali is right and we see questionable changes this summer following the clusterfuck of last year, then for me there will be nowhere to hide for Levy and the board, and no excuses will justify charging the highest ticket prices in the world whilst not being able to deliver a squad commensurate with those premium prices.

Come on, Spurs, don't fuck this one up: we all want you to get it right.

Well we gotta hold out hope that somehow one of Lo Celso or Fernandez might happen. Or there could be an 11th hour surprise. But Ali's info is a smidge disheartening, considering where we seemed to be five or six weeks ago.
