Just got this.....

We should have walked away from the Lo Celso deal weeks ago. Fee agreed in principle for the third time and again they want to change the structure. Everything else has been agreed for over a month.
That's irritating to say the least, but at the same time how many times have we heard about Levy doing the same thing when selling a player? What goes around, comes around.

Thanks for the information, @Trix
I wonder if Lo Celso is okay with that, especially with him as interested in joining us as previous reports were saying...

Thanks Trix. If that’s the case you’d expect Levy to wait them out and hope they back down.

Restructuring is a major part of the deal as you know so it’s not necessarily something that makes financial sense just to “go for”

That's depressing. Levy has his work cut out for him during these next few days.
such a shame- but it looks like Daniel is backing Poch and if MP sees this and we get MP's next choice after exhausting this then I'm really fine with it
We will know in the next 4 days either way.
Thanx for the info as always @Trix

He hasn't got long left to wait, we should just move onto other targets instead of risking being left short again

I'll cling onto the word 'should' and hope this means it's still got a chance.

Disheartening to say the least.

Yep, the 'should' suggests that we haven't walked away.

Having said that i'd place a bet now that should Betis' desperation get the better of them and they blink first and go back to the deal that was originally agreed, Levy will then counter that with a completely different deal for less money over a longer period !

What I don't get is they are being so awkward with us, but just sold Junior Firpo for what most journos are saying is a bargain fee. Guessing it's the sell ons.

I was wondering the same. At what point do you turn round to your chairman and ask them to stop taking the piss?

Seriously frustrating. It actually feels like Levy has really done the right thing here and is just getting screwed.

It’s seriously gutting because I think this guy looks fantastic and I can hardly think there’s a better player available to us.

Fingers crossed. We need to, credibly, say to them that we have alternatives and we’re looking elsewhere.

The credibility thing is the issue. Who else is there available in that position, of that quality?

Because everyone knows England is where the Money is, so clubs demand more

Levy is unfortunately between a rock and a hard place. Bend over backwards to please a very tricky counterpart, or walk away (as I’m sure he’d have done in the past) giving the manager more reason to air our laundry in public. It’s kind of lose lose whether we get the player or not.

Wtf are they doing?

But you're exactly right. If they were pissing us about we should have walked away weeks ago. Pity there's no time for a plan B now, this is why leaving it late makes no sense.

I hope everybody reads this clearly, if you can't see that Levy is backing Poch by not walking away from these shitty negotiations I don't know what to tell you. I've been critical of him in the past but he is clearly trying to get the 2nd name on Pochs wishlist this summer having already secured the first.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

He's doing the right thing. I can only think that normally he would have walked away by now but he wants to back Poch. That said, Levy is normally notoriously difficult to negotiate with (although I have no idea if he is known to change the goalposts once a deal has been agreed).

Betis have to pay 2 parties on a GLC deal. If we had to do that on a transfer, Levy would be doing the same thing.

You know this as fact? Is this based on all the times you’ve seen Levy sell players for whom two previous clubs are owed recompense m?
