I would argue that watching 90 minutes of football under AVB is more difficult than waiting 4 weeks for a signing (excluding Davies, it seems)

To be fair I hardly ever lasted 90 minutes during AVB's time. By the 70th minute I was normally preoccupied myself painting the walls and watching it dry ... and knitting.

It was glorious although it all became too much at one point... could hardly keep up that last week of the TW. In anticipation of the same I am taking the last week off this year...

So it looks like Lloris was not asked if he expected to be at Spurs for pre-season, which is what some reported, but he was asked if he would be at Spurs for the whole season, and he answered "Yes, I should be".

JJ said that other signings will take 4 weeks, not necessarily Ben Davies.

I can see us signing him soon, it sounds as good as done IMO.

I think people are not liking what JJ said because it's going to take 4 weeks...just be patient, we waited until August 28th to sign three of our players last summer...

Also, we put up with Sherwood for 6 months, 4 weeks really isn't that long

I see nothing to suggest that "as I said nothing happening yet regardless of all the other noise probably a good 4 weeks" excludes the mooted Davies signing.

JJ is saying they he doesn't expect any signings in the next four weeks or so.

Personally, I doubt this, but who knows?

Perhaps we plan to keep Rose at left back and spend our money on strengthening central defence and forward line?

I was thinking the same thing but an earlier poster has JJ saying the 4 weeks is for the other players (as in not BD) which would suggest Davies will be done soon

Yes, that's how I read it too.

Which rather contradicts the previous bit, suggesting that Davies "might" be an exclusion to the 4-weeks wait for signings. Which I suppose he would be if we don't sign him at all.

Although we might. Obviously.

Personally, its quite contradictory to what he said about BD, but what do i know?! I'm not arguing with JJ!

To be honest the thought of spending £50m on those two is frightening. It's not going to happen. Happy to move onto other targets at that price
