I think the Birmingham Mail might be on to something. Deal with Spurs all done, but Villa trying to negotiate a permanent agreement after the loan so that he doesn't demand even higher wages if he succeeds or even moves somewhere else. Would explain our ITKs confusion with the delay.

Or he's just being lazy and skipping preseason.

Surely if its been signed then it is done, complete, finito?

We also got some info about them printing up shirts in the Villa shop.

Maybe it is us therefore all the vitriol towards Adebayor who has performed for us when played is moot.

Levy needs to just get our targets in now! Every year we manage 11-12 pts out of 18 and I hope we can improve by 2 more pts.

Did you have to? If you disagree fine, disagree but i'm sure you can do so without making it personal.

All I'm seeing is personal abuse and hatred towards a player we gave a contract to and has performed for us.

I don't like it because there is a sinister undercurrent to it that rears its head on occassion and you had to delete the other day.

That isn't even a defence. Again, if you disagree, then i'm sure you can do so without the inflammatory/personal remarks.

Adebayor maybe demanding that the deal is made permanent if Villa secure safety. Villa maybe countering with if your goals secure a certain number of points then that will trigger it etc.

Very complicated in that case, I'd imagine.

From Villatalk

This has nothing to do with Levy, they've wanted rid for ages, the issue here is Adebayor, he wants guarantees that we will give him a deal after his loan, think this has been a sticking point for Fox and co, who are rightly not budging on it.

Thanks for posting Heggy. This has confused me though. Why are the contracts signed if he's still talking to the Villa board about the deal?

I am on exactly the same page as Hertyid. Everything was done last week, and my stuff on this has come from a former Villa director who still has very close ties with the club. I can only imagine after this long it is down to getting a replacement in first before it is announced. He is still our player so I would guess we would have the final say on when it becomes public.

If the contracts were signed does that not make it final? Maybe something still needs rubber stamping? Thanks for the info anyway. Let's hope he FINALLY fucks off today

I don't think that's possible. He's not allowed to negotiate beyond the end of his contract till January (with a team abroad) or June (with an English team).

They have to agree a permanent deal now to have any control over what Ade does after next season.

The loan contract is between us and Villa for length of loan, loan fee, how much Villa contribute to wages etc. We have a contract with Adebayor saying he gets £x/week. There might be no need for a contract between Ade & Villa except for after his contract with us runs out next season. It is quite possible that loan all signed & done.

Perhaps weve done a uturn and poch wants him as our assistant manager to mould as a future number 1. That would be good, wouldnt it?

It seems (from the ITK info) that all is fine with that, just ade is wanting villa to agree to sign him next year, but villa won't agree and IMO rightly so, he needs to perform to get the contract
