If we manage to get Martial, and we should be doing absolutely everything in our power to do so considering the leverage we have with Alderweireld, I'd be delighted.

Would be an absolute star in our team, and I'm convinced he'd be that final part of the attacking jigsaw, that spark that could really ignite our attack.

No reason to shoot the messenger. I don't think it's inaccuracy, rather I think Ali Z has said his info comes from agents, and sometimes that info may have been given with an agenda.

Ali Z often pops up with uninspiring ITK in the last couple of days of the window to pour cold water over optimistic stuff about “something big happening” etc.

Just because you don’t like what he says doesn’t mean he doesn’t have sources around the club.

Although I admit his latest bit is weird - if it was accurate then we’d be in the situation that all the supposed major targets ( Grealish, Zaha and Martial) weren’t our first choice/priority .

I feel exactly the same way about Zaha.
Don’t get me wrong martial would be great too but if we sign Zaha I’m going to put a ton on us to win the league, that’s how much I think he would make a difference to us

Cheers for the info all of you ITKs. Everyone remember that info can come from so many different places and ITKs must usually interpret or infer something on top of the info they get, so it's not out of the ordinary for info to be conflicting. For example, we could hypothetically be trying to stall the Martial-Toby transfer in order for other deals to fall in to place. To united we might have said that we're looking to ship out non-hg before agreeing a transfer, and that might be what Ali Z has heard. Or something else. Point is, info is all over the place, and there's no point getting your knickers in a twist just because some info doesn't align.

I'd happily take either, but Martial edges it for me. I think his composure and quality in front of goal is superior.

All in all I welcome the latest ITK, as it hasn't looked great for a few weeks now, but just have to trust the powers that be are getting on with things behind the scenes.

With regards to my earlier post to A&C, yes we all know HG is required, some players can leave on loan to organise squad etc. Martial has not been offered to us but we are pushing for him.

I think martial would be better to cover kane but for me Zaha playing wide forward would be amazing.
Teams like Man U Chelsea and every lesser team try to defend deep and Mark kane and Eriksen to stifle us and at times it’s pretty effective.
Can you imagine teams doing that to us with Zaha as well? I can’t. It will create so much more space for kane and Eriksen

it Concerns me at on one hand we are hearing Toby to utd is near enough done, and on the other we are still pushing for martial.

I will never know the ins and out of what’s going on this transfer window, but spurs now need to decide going into the last few days who’s the deal they are going for, if it’s martial then you hold on to Toby til the very end and max Jose nut crack and deal with us for martial, or if it’s not going to happen sell Toby to utd now and move on to option number 2, not still trying for martial in the mean time. As once they get Toby done utd won’t show us any time for martial they will have what they want.

Let's be honest, it wouldn't be unusual for us to have diversion tactics. Sounds like United are doing similar with Maguire and Mina

It's not just that either. Every source will have an agenda of their own. I can remember being told something a couple of years back from two separate sources. One made it sound like the best thing since sliced bread, the other like it was the craziest idea in football history yet it was basically the same info
