Who is the pressure being put on though? City are the ones who have to meet our price by a certain date.

A LOT happening right now. Seen a few linking us with Tammy Abrahams but we are not interested and he is on the verge of signing for Arsenal

But by stirring it up in the papers, Kane's head might get turned and he then asks to leave or says it more public, weakening our position and then hoping we reduce our demands.

I can't see Kane doing that IMO, but it has happened before.

I suspect the whole story has come about because Levy has (rightly IMO) changed his stance from 'not for sale at any price' to 'available for a high price' my guess is circa £180m. This shifts everything on to City.

Kane's camp are probably getting carried away with this happening, hence the story.

Kane is keen, City are no doubt keen too, but them actually paying £160m+ is far from a given. Only way I see it happening is if City give us some real quality in exchange which is where the 'blues brothers' cryptic comes in. Jesus and one of Mahrez/Laporte or even Bernardo (Mendes link) would be good signings for us, however I doubt any of the latter three would actually choose to join us. I'm not a massive fan of Gabriel Jesus however he feels like a given in any deal. I actually think the difficulty they'll have in shifting those named players may well scupper the deal.

OK, the second batch of amnesties for this transfer window has been done.

As of today, any bans are at least for the duration of this transfer window so do take care.

PS: I'll explain it again. The reason I don't respond to PM's when people have been banned has been touched on in a whingethread. It serves no purpose. Individual warnings or reasons aren't an entitlement, you get very very many warnings within this thread. If I were to respond to every PM I wouldn't have time to deal with it all, the inevitable to and fro of PM's arguing the toss is a grand waste of time for all concerned. You, me, them, everybody, everybody.......

Everybody needs somebody
Everybody needs somebody to love (Someone to love)
Sweetheart to miss (Sweetheart to miss)
Sugar to kiss (Sugar to kiss)

So, please do put some thought into this thread. We make it clear we moderate this thread differently, if i'm being honest, I don't like how this thread is now, we used to have a great laugh in here but some people rip the piss out of it and we've ended up like this :(

I think the negative backdrop of last season & the manager search has taken the shine off all things Spurs for most. Get a decent signing in and the good vibes will start to come back IMO.

I’m an optimist, if he wants to go then NO player is bigger than the club, not even HK. If we get 100million plus say Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva (assuming they would come as for me Bernardo Silva is top drawer) then we use the cash to strengthen where necessary. I think arguably if those two came in exchange and we use the cash wisely then by the end of this we arguably should have a better team and squad than last year. HK is a legend and world class, no doubt, but pragmatically we can make this work for the benefit of Tottenham Hotspur in the long term. Forwards of Jesus, Ings, Son and A.N Other would set us up nicely with the creativity of Silva added too? I’ll take that

Like how they keep some positive news unofficial until a negative headline appears :ROFLMAO:

But certainly good news.
