so you think poch is happy with the current squad?

he worked wonders with what he had last season. extremely hard to do that again imo
Who knows. I do think he would've given the green light to sell who we have and would know what we have. And maybe that's why the son sale didn't go through.

Everyone seems to think that levy is just selling people without the OK from poch and that isn't and can't be the case.

People can claim others are overreacting but from what I can see...

We have played shit the start of the season and that's down to missing one man, Dembele.

How can we go into the season where we have CL relying on someone who can't effectively play two games a week.

Instead of finding a quality alternative to him, we are looking at the bleak potential of PL games with an axis of Wanyama and DIer (that's granted they aren't injured/suspended too)

As for our attacking options, all but Lamela are out of form and look devoid of ideas, fresh ,quality blood was needed.

If you really believe our success as a team depends on one player then we may as well sack Pochettino now, because I don't want a manager who's entire body of work is meaningless unless one CM who has taken until the age of 29 to string two decent consecutive games together as a CM (and was also on the pitch for 70% of the winning positions we gave away) has become the difference between being great and shit.

I am disappointed that we didn't pick up one of the quality AM's that were floating around this summer, and that if we were selling Bentaleb and Mason that we didn't go after someone like Tolisso. But surely one of the biggest reasons we brought in Pochettino is because he coaches, improves players already here and integrates developing players. If this can't mitigate the loss of one player for a handful of games then we are stuffed.

The assumption that you have made is that they won't. But then you don't have any knowledge on the subject (with respect of course, nor do I - but I have a bit of faith that if Pochettino names whoever on his bench, he's happy that they can step up).
Hopefully, but if he has so much faith in them then why not play them last year in the Europa, I know Onomah got some minutes but Winks didn't, and a 6 week holiday didn't suddenly make hem ready.

I hope you're right but I fear you're not. And I think it's obvious that Poch did want signings, he's usually quite coy but outright said we (he) wanted signings after the last match. Which leads you to wonder how happy he can really be having sold all these back up options only to not get anyone else in?

My concern is Poch he let players go with a promise we would improve quality, this is yet again very short sighted by Levy if we fail to get anybody bar GNK and Pau.

Hence my call for calm yesterday, typical Levy, bad news as it will upset players and Poch, broken promises

And also regarding Poch

Possibly but not walk out just go if he gets right offer, he wanted to improve quality and use youngsters to develop quality and have back up, if we fail to bring in at least 1 more we will have limited forward/creative player at least- Zaha, Coric were both players he was happy to bring in, he wanted more pace, he wanted more options so he could have a plan B/C etc numbers were not that important but certainly been left with less than he would want.

That is unsettling reading.

But just maybe our manager has more of an insight into our youth team than we do.

If the kids know the way Poch trains and how Poch wants us to play, then for me that's less of a gamble than an Isco who doesn't want to be here, playing half-heartedly for a year whilst on loan.

What annoys me is the assumption that Pochettino is "fuming" about all this - and that he and Levy are very much at odds with one another. I don't get that impression at all.

But that could be the case and it will only come out if things don't go well on the pitch. We don't know.

I agree that we shouldn't sign players for the sake of it but we are leaving ourselves wide open and it could easily turn sour as it so many times previously.

I've been defensive of Levy in the past, but if he's unwilling to live up to promises then I will have lost patience with him. We have an excellent opportunity to try compete with the bigger teams on many fronts, yet once again Levy takes risks that leave us short.

Anyone would think we still had Harry in charge. Have people not been watching??

Seriously, take a look at yourselves. Remember what Poch is about - Signing the right man, not just any man.

If Isco isn;t and never was up for it then fine. Give youth more game time.
If Sissoko, as expected, goes to chelsea for £250k pw then fine - he's a proven mercenary anyway.

Poch has and always will be about youth, commitment and loyalty.

Poch is obviously so desperate for players and doesn't trust the club to do the best that they can that he's gone on Holiday.

This is what I'm most interested in. How Poch feels about all this. Afraid that it could be the last summer transfer window with him in charge.

That's more clutching at straws then half this board who think we might sign Isco today are doing. No chance we have enough quality in our youth ranks to step up and become part of a CL and PL title challenging side.

so Poch is concerned about the things most fans are....outgoings not replaced/upgraded. Not good and surely DL wont let this happen as he must worry Poch could walk/

There must be some kind of conspiracy going on here where our chains are being yanked. We could all script the events of this day year in year out. Every single twist and turn is predictable. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Despite trying to stem the flow of ludicrous rage and despair, I will say that if Levy has promised certain things to Poch and has then backtracked on them then that is very very worrying indeed.

Obviously a big 'if' there, but not good reading that ITK certainly.

Haha this is just like any other year. We probably won't sign anyone and everyone will have a meltdown. Same thing last year basically. Again I think we will be fine with what we've got. Obviously being in the CL doesn't significantly raise our ability to sign higher quality players.
