A journo has just texted me that they are already been given a spin. That Pochis very specific the type of players he wanted. And it was more him deciding not to sign for the sake of it. This journo also knows the truth, which ‘I/we may go public if it is safe to do so’. Club are watching social media like gestapos. No joke.

The truth is...

Levy is a fucking wasteman

They say football fans treat transfer deadline day like Christmas. Remember that Christmas morning when you rushed to the Christmas tree and tore open your presents only to find your mum had rewrapped the toys you already owned. And you thought ‘Fuck you Mum, you slapheaded midget’. This is a bit like that.
I had no idea you had such a tough upbringing - sorry about your mum being a slapheaded midget.

See, @Stoof - this is what happens to those who wait.

I am already at 5. Nothing to do but support the team we have, and not worry about the team we do not have.

I just skipped 1 to 5 pal and went straight to the underlined part; which is ironically where I started.

Isn’t that pretty much what Poch said in his press conference? Well not the gestapo bit but, the hard to improve an already good squad, not buying for sake of buying...

In a way I HOPE they are watching and can see the level of frustration we feel. Thanks for all your updates. Grrrr ?
I kinda feel that no fucks are given by them in relation to how the clubs fans are feeling over a transfer window. We should be used to this at this time of year. £150m to Zero could be a movie in the making if you take in the forthcoming meltdown..

At least the Nelsen and Saha window is no longer the worst one.

It's not as memorable because it wasn't immediately apparent. But I think Summer 2016 was probably our worst window. We spent £75m on Sissoko, Janssen, Wanyama, N'Koudou, and Lopez on loan. The only one of those we'd still want around two years on is Wanyama, and he seems to have chronic fitness issues. The other three cost us £60m between them, are so poor that we can't seem to sell them at all let alone re-coup that money despite huge transfer inflation since then, have taken up squad opportunities from talented youngsters who've got so fed up some of them have started leaving the club, and are now hogging squad spaces we therefore can't use on anybody else. That is FAR worse than a couple of short-term freebies or simply doing nothing.

And despite that 16-17 was then our best season in decades. It's not all about the players who come in. And this time we haven't set ourselves up to suffer even more in the future.

This transfer window has ramifications beyond just the results of the first half of the season. We have the Manager of a lifetime who we didn't back after he made a statement "to be brave" prior the transfer window. My guess is Poch will look a lot more closely next time a major European club comes calling. We have multiple stars who will be targeted in the foreseeable future. They want to chase trophies and be apart of a club that represents that same intent.....we surely don't. The intent of this club is to make profit at the end of each year.

We'll look back at this transfer window as the beginning of the end to this great run we've been on with manager and players. Sad deal.

Of course not. This forum is a few hundred users out of how many fans?

This is actually really worrying

Essentially the club is (might be) throwing Poch under the bus for their failures

A proud, loyal Poch will only do one thing if that happens

Thanks for the info. Lmao, if only we put as much effort into signings.

The club isn’t telling the truth because they know they really fucked it and Poch isn’t happy?

Sounds about right.

Our club executives aren’t covering themselves in glory in all of this.

Spin it that it was his fault that we didn't sign anyone so when the depth-starved squad runs out of gas in February and ends up finishing 6th they can fire Poch and say he made his bed. Brilliant.

The big question is IF we have had a transfer budget for this window as we haven’t touched it does that mean it will role over to next summers transfer budget? Not including January as more chance of pigs flying than Levy doing business in January

Always get the impression with Pochettino that his measure of success would be more Alex Ferguson’s legacy than a one-off EPL title. Building the squad, bringing on the next generation of internationals, generating a strong culture, all the good stuff. Maybe bravery to him is taking off the support wheels and reducing the club’s reliance on overseas, bought-in talent. Maybe his primary targets were Sessegnon and Grealish after all and not Charles Coup de Ballon.

It’s far more fun defending Levy. It’s the kind of buzz OJ Simpson’s lawyers must have felt.

Our own fans are sticking the boot in more than the 'pundits'. Even Merson is more positive about our window than you lot.

People want to see us progress. We were short last year and I think most people see the gaps and we’ve not managed to address any.

I’m struggling to see that there is not 1 player out there in our budget that could have addressed issues we have.
