Levy once again. Surprise surprise. He must be deluded if he doesn’t know how fans feel about what is going on. He should be busting his balls to push the Bale deal through - give us something positive.

absolutely! After yesterday, we clearly still need more than just a back up striker. Ridiculous that striker was on the wish list and still hasn’t happened if listed targets were all attainable. But we should be going all in on Bale now. This Spurs team needs a massive boost and honestly atm a guy that can win a game by himself because the rest of the team (minus Doherty) look lost.
If we have green lights from Madrid and the Bale camp and we still can’t sign him, Levy is a lost cause player recruitment wise.

Perhaps Levy's leaving his big stride for the end, a concession late on will make Real and Bale feel good and the deal gets done, perhaps:cautious:
As for the other targets that Mourinho has given him I can't help but think that Trix's ITK points to an enormous row after yesterday's game and Jose is putting the pressure on.

No Trix posted a similar sentiment earlier in the season with regards to Jose targets, I think the tone of his post today just reflects the frustration of the loss + the fucking around with Bale

I hope Jose is putting the pressure on after Trixs info. We need a lift badly, doesn’t need to be Bale, but we need a decent 2nd striker or Jose will walk by xmas & levy will end up with a White Elephant Lane.

And maybe it came to a head yesterday.

Chelsea had a pool of 25-odd young, talented players they could fall back on. A result of years of planned investment and squad management. Levy on the other hand just completely abandoned the first team squad and his best manager ever to its fate, while he poured all our cash into his property development schemes.

We are in a much worse position than Chelsea ever ware sadly...

I totally agree with that. My only point was that with us not investing in the squad for such a long time meant that we had bigger funds for transfers last summer. With Chelsea having the transfer ban it must mean that they have a bigger budget for transfers this window as well.

Come on, guys. Even at 50%, £300k per week is insane for us - and that's before a loan fee is chucked on top. Dreams are free - just not this one...
What makes me laugh... there’s no other supporters that discuss wages more than Spurs supporters. We’re linked with “X”. First thoughts... Oh his wages will be too much for us. This is what DL has done to us.

If Jose doesn't get what he wants this window I'm done with Levy. I don't post spin(my info doesn't come from a place spin would exist) but I do omit some stuff as I feel at times it's counter productive.

Jose unlike Poch has given a decent list of players he wants and needs. None of them should be out of our range money wise, so there can imo be no excuses for not getting him at least his minimum requirements.

In that case I hope we prioritise these signings of Jose before thinking about Bale. Not sure why people are losing their shit about Levy dragging his heels on the Bale deal when our priority should be the players the manager wants. If getting Bale means Jose losing out on his targets, I'm glad we haven't pulled the trigger.

It doesnt have to hit the press for us spurs fans to find out.

So you’re suggesting that Levy wanted to leak the idea that we are trying to work out a deal to sign Gareth Bale, despite having no intention of signing him, just so that it will look as if he did at least try?

That might have worked the best part of 20 years ago, around the time of that Rivaldo letter , but he will be in no doubt now that the only consequence of such a ruse would be to piss Spurs fans off even more than they already are. If he knows that he is about to deliver an underwhelming transfer window, he would be at pains to temper expectation, not raise it.

So, in this instance, we should take the ITK at face value. He is genuinely trying to work out a deal but it is incredibly difficult. Which is precisely why ITK has suggested that the chance of success is small - perhaps as little as 10%.

Per the ITK updates...gotta wait until end of the window to be fair.

Levy's no fool. He's dealing with one of the most decorated managers in club football and paid a darn pretty penny to get him.

Your move Daniel.....

Tbf there's no evidence of Levy leaking this deal out in an attempt to spin anything in either direction. If it leaked in spite of him then we can at most blame him for not expecting it to be leaked.

£300k is a £5m/year write down on top of the £200k we pay NDombele.

The write down is less than the fees we wrote down for Sissoko, Llorente, and numerous squad fodder who did nothing for us on the pitch, nor in growing the club Commercially.

I strongly doubt the issue is the deal itself - but our wage bill as a whole, relative to £0 match day revenue for an uncertain length of time.

We need to shift bodies. Sissoko £80k, Aurier £80k, Rose £70k.

I've no idea whether to blame Levy or not without knowing the numbers - but he does have previous for f-ing about so I totally get the frustration on here.

Why are we even trying though - to get Bale?

I'd rather Mourinho had his key targets in before the season started instead of wasting time on fantasies that never happen.

And people wonder why the fan base get pissed off!

Im probably in the minority here but I think signing Bale will set us back more than help push us forward. Seems like a total waste of money, time and resources that should be spent elsewhere.

Bale wouldn’t have changed what happened on the pitch yesterday - we were utter dog shit. He’s not going to turn up and magically motivate the rest of the players on the pitch. Lad barely has the motivation to train!

All this talk of signing strikers is mental considering we have one of the best in the world and refuse to service him on the pitch.

As I keep saying the club isn't skint
A certain person wants us fans to believe we are though and has brainwashed many.

Ehh Daniel ;)

I'm not saying he could repeat the trick twice, but when we were utter dog shit under AVB, that's exactly what he did, week after week. The amount of times I sat in my seat at WHL with my head in my hands at how bad we'd played, only for Gareth to send a 30 yarder into the top corner.

If I had the choice, I'd have Mourinho gone and a young manager with new ideas, but that's not going to happen (yet), so adding a genuine superstar to the team would be something at least. Just his presence alone could lift us, and if it also means Lucas wouldn't be on the pitch, then that's just the cherry on the cake.

Plus he can take a set piece. And cross. And shoot. All things we struggle with right now.

Latest stuff from Trix is really worrying at this stage.
Season after season we start off with player remaining that want to go, and not having the players the squad and manager needs.
They never learn the lesson.

What really gets me is the continual "surprise" by the board & DL

Surprise - The Bale Deal is tricky to do
Surprise - Strikers cost a lot of money
Surprise - Other clubs don't want to spend a lot on players we've cast aside
Surprise - Mourinho gets pi$$ed off when he doesn't get the players he was promised

Just always seem to be two steps behind with regards to Transfers unless something falls in our lap.
