The Journalist has Villa connections. As it was effectively 'tapping up' I doubt anyone at Villa would know Benteke was shown around.

I realise that I am asking a question to do with the semantics of a situation here, but would it be considered tapping up if a player like Dembele had said to Benteke "next time you are in London, I have to show you our new training ground, it is amazing" and of course showed him next time he was in London?

I'm assuming that a 'bid' doesn't mean DL picking up a phone and saying 'we bid £20mil', and that an official bid would need to be some kind of legally binding drawn up document with a breakdown of the bid details??

Anyone know exactly how a 'bid' is submitted?

Its nowhere near as simple as many would think. Its totally logical for extensive negotiations to take place in the first instance otherwise the work put in to formalising a bid could turn out a waste of time and only slow up the process further.

Now, ITK is telling us that both Clubs want this resolved sooner rather than later and Villa certainly do as they've indicated in their statement and for obvious reasons.

A scatter gun approach with firing in bids without having discussed the intricate aspects of the deal with Villa just sounds ridiculous. This deal will be complex and detailed given the fact that we are going to have to spend more than we ever have. It sounds eminently more plausible that detailed negotiations take place first to ensure a realistic/feasible bid is subsequently submitted.

If we're still negotiating with Villa then he should try not to piss them off. He'll probably go in but end up training with the reserves. Actually Villa could end up with a pretty good reserve team with Benteke, bent, Given and Hutton all in the doghouse.

Daddy and Uncle Franco are in Birmingham. Contrary to popular belief, transfers are done by arm wrestling. Daddy and Uncle Franco vs Lambert and Lerner. The two men that pull the shortest straws square off. So it's Daddy v Lambert.

They both go around the arm wrestling table and after 2 hours of arm wrestling, Lambert wins. He and Lerner start jumping shouting "Benteke is ours".


Not wanting to lose Benteke as it would make cousin Andre angry, Dad whispered to Uncle Franco "get the gun, we're not leaving here without Benteke"

Uncle Franco stood by the door with his face colder than A&C's unused dildos. Lambert and Lerner began looking a bit nervous.

"GIVE ME BENTEKE NOW!" Shouted Uncle Franco


No one replied.

"I SAID I WANT BENTEKE NOW" he screamed to the top of his longs, his voice creaking like the door of Mr Pink's cabbie

"No" Lambert said nervously

Uncle Franco dug into his pocket, dad's face lit up and to everyone's surprise.....

UNCLE FRANCO PULLED OUT HIS (incredibly large) WILLY AND STARTED JIZZING ALL OVER THE ROOM UNCONTROLLABLY


Having never seen this kind of jizz, Lerner and Lambert willingly gave us Benteke for $2.05 and a free dildo


Negotiations were complete and Benteke will be a Spurs player this week.

I thought the same when it was mentioned. I do think there is something dodgy if true because there is presumably security to stop players from other clubs wandering in whenever they want, but - if we were complicit - then it could well be true.
