I can see us being stuck with alot of our potential outgoings because we want too much for them.
Some things never change.

I don't get why people keep saying this. He is a big strong lad, he is quickish and gets himself into the scoring zone well enough, but his hold up play is really not very good. He gives the ball away quite a lot and in the two games against us he was quite poor.
I think as a pure No.9 you could make a case, as good as is possible based on one season. But I've watched him possibly a dozen times maybe 10 full games and haven't been impressed with his "hold up" play in deeper areas at all. He gives the ball away a lot (his completion rate for example is 64%, Adebayor even last year when not in form was 80%). He's strong but his technique is pretty ordinary.
I can understand people maybe wanting him based on his in box performance last year, but his play outside the box was very ordinary bordering on poor most of the time.
Actually I thought his hold up play was good over the course of the season. Many times he would control the ball and lay it off, or get control the ball with his chest when defenders were pressuring him and pass it off to someone else. He isn't great at heading the ball on, but there is far more to hold up play than that.
EDIT: his pass completion rate is also significantly affected by the shite he was playing with week in week out.
I was watching a completely different player - and I thought you said earlier you hadn't seen much of him. 10-12 full games is a decent chunk of viewing time as well.
Oh God, Soldado, after all this as well, would be fantastic. Even a month back, before any strikers had moved he was the one I coveted most. We'd end up signing the best of bunch in terms of talent and age that we could possibly have, imo.I still think Soldado is the one.
- got a good deal of experience on him
- natural finisher, clever movement, decent pace over ten yards
- Valencia have financial trouble and no CL
- who else that is in the CL would go for him ? ( previous info indicated he was interested in us but would prefer CL )
Why not test our luck at around 18m and offer a very decent lump sum up front to entice the cash strapped Valencia ? Yes he is in to the wrong half of his twenties, but I still think we could make something back. If he signed a three year deal and did well for us, then we take that Levy clause that always gets put in and extend contract a year. We could still recoup 5-10m from someone IF Soldado did well for us ( which I think he would ) and was injury free-ish. He might be the wrong side of 30 by then, but he has pedigree and there would be clubs mad keen to grab him up for 2-3 years.
Just rambling. Sorry.
What is the name of the player you were watching ?
On the subject of defoe he is not going anywhere...Daniel Levys fav player.
Vallencia seem adamant that Soldado will stay though. They've already sold a few to meet their payments so I can't see it, unless Bankia demand it.
Surprised people want Benteke. He has all the finesse of Darren Bent and he scored goals everywhere too. If we sign him people will bemoan everything about his all round game
couldn't even give Villa the team who found and gave him a shot at the big time a year or 2 more. what an ass, he is only 22 and has time on his side. If we signed him (Im not impressed like the majority of u) he'd only do the same once a bigger or wealthier club came sniffing
Belgian andy carrol, hugely overrated after 1 season
From Sevilla...Nevas to City as well £15m.
