$Why would this mean they won't go for Schneiderlin? Chambers is a RB!

Also, they could be more reluctant to sell another player to Arsenal after Chambers because they've already done it with Liverpool. They haven't sold anyone to us (yeah ok we stole their manager but who cares) . They really are in deep shit now though.
Rather go in for Moutinho If Schneirderlin is around £27 million.
This is what I just don't get though.
How do you put a figure on what he's worth to Pochettino? Its his vision in terms of the team he's trying to build and the style he's trying to implement.
If he sees him as integral who cares what price we have to pay? I mean that in the sense that Levy worry about the financials. We should be much more concerned that Pochettino gets in who he wants not what the exact figure amounts to.
Interesting development which could be good for us. It looks like Arsenal will be signing Callum Chambers (£7m-16m being mentioned) and some Arsenal fans are speculating that this could mean that they won't go after Schneiderlin. Fingers crossed.
What the hell is going on there? Gonna have less players than Blackpool at this rate.I like Chambers... Would like him in our squad to push Walker.
I can't believe the amount of players that SCBC are letting go, Lambert aside they seem to be getting/quoting over the odds for all of them. I just wonder when they'll say enough is enough.
A few weeks back, when some people were going, "£30m TV money! We're going to spend, spend, spend!" I suggested that Levy wouldn't deviate from the policy he's operated since ENIC took over, and that anyway player price inflation would mean it wouldn't go anything like as far as they imagined. "No! You're so wrong!" they cried.
If someone had suggested last summer that Lallana, Shaw and Lovren would go for a cool £70m-odd (or one Luis Suarez) he'd have been called a nutter. Yet here we are.
And our King became a much better CD after playing half a season at CM under Hoddle.
That's what some Gooners are saying. I don't know either. There were rumours of them stopping their pursuit for a midfielder because Wenger had faith in Wilshere. I wish him good luck with that. Why would signing a RB stop them wanting Schneiderlin ? I don't get it.
Hard to stop when people are willing to hand you a good few extra mil. for nothing. What the hell is going on there? Gonna have less players than Blackpool at this rate.
Surely the point is that if saints let Lovren and Chambers go aswell as the others that have already gone they'll shut the shop and refuse to sell Schneiderlin to anyone. No?

When we sold Modric & immediately paid Dembele's release clause of £15m, that seemed a fair enough deal & price.
Two years on, what value a premium central midfielder from a non top-6 club, as Dembele was, such as Schneiderlin?
Factor in increased prices due to daft TV money & suddenly £20m seems the going rate.
Whether Chief Dan sees it that way is a moot point.
Rightly or wrongly, we don't have a system where the manager selects our transfer targets (although i'm sure he has some input). We employ scouts and a technical director to do that job. Poch's job is to turn that into a team. The manager's wishlist should be type of player not specific individuals and leave it to the scouts and Baldini to supply that type of player within the strictures of the transfer budget.
Personally I am very dubious about managers raiding their old teams for players. It's not such a bad idea for lower league managers but at our level a manager should be able to work with what he's given not just with what he knows. If Poch was insisting we buy some brilliant player from Southampton's youth team then fair enough but identifying players you want who cost £20M+ ... well if that's how you want to play it you should be at Chelsea or Man City.
Look at the money we would have spunked away if we had bought AVB's wishlist. Look at the money we spunked on Harry's collection of 'triffic players'. It's not like Poch has a brilliant track record of big money signings is it?
