And all I'm saying is you can't work miracles with a limited squad. He needed to be backed, we all knew that, he wasn't and now we go through the same old spurs, flatter to deceive.

I just hope we do not receive any more tonkings from Liverpool Manure Man city Arsenal Chelsea etc

Sandro's previous injury is why we 'sold' him.
He can and probably will be a big player for QPR but due to the nature of his injury and referred pain and linked issues to that he will also have a lot of time away.
Not ideal to let go of him but take into consideration his contract running down and later sell on value if he has another stop start season, his injuries and also what we have in the same role its a sensible yet not emotional decision.
Has anyone seen the difference in sandros build since his injury? If you look at ac Milan game for example or when he scored against Chelsea he was a lot leaner and more athletic looking, he used to get around the pitch so much better than he does now. He looks almost overweight and seemingly like he has lost a lot of mobility ? Vital ingredients when playing the way pochettino likes to play

I'm so angry at this window .. I said it over Nelson and Saha and I'll say it again .. levy and Lewis need to speculate a little to catch the big boys ... Harry's winter window cost this club dear ...

that said , I now accept we will never strike whilst the iron is hot and we are always going to get 3rd /4th targets until the club is sold and be in a treading water state until new stadium

if we have paid the stadium off already ..I take it all back.

... why are we continually entering. each season with glaring gaps in our team?

I am now going to do something I never felt I would with my beloved team ... I will now bet against them to lose matches .. I will donate a chunk of any winnings to SC (whats the policy on tainted winnings?... acceptable? ) and the rest is for me to get pissed next transfer deadline day ..

The trouble is we are not going to pay top wages and top transfer fees. That is the be all and end all of attracting top tier talent, especially premier league players and players who already earn a fortune. We have been a team who pick up players go are in their ascendency and sell them on at a profit after a few years, a stepping stone for foreign players to prove themselves on the way to the big teams.

we've made net profits of up to £20m every year since 2010. you're really telling me us signing either of the players our manager wanted would have made us go into administration?

I think you need to reread our financials.

Oh wait... Hull, West Ham and Stoke actually have a higher net spend than the mighty Spurs over the last 5 years.

I was kind of with your little rant until this little gem. What exactly are you arguing here? That actually spending money works?

Because if I was saying that I probably wouldn't use West Ham as an example of how to spend money. Because that would be stupid.

I don't know about anyone else, but I just wish there was some rule which said people couldn't come back on here after it all goes a bit better than expected and say "I admit it guys I was wrong about "...". Or at least if they do, then they could be somehow banned from repeating the same negative bullshit the next time they feel their knee jerking in a particular direction.

I have doubts yes. But doubt is not a judgement call. I will most certainly hope he does the business.

Having said that, both players are the same age, one is a World Cup experienced player, the other has yet to earn a cap for the very same country. One is PL experienced, the other comes from a French side that scraped past relegation last season. So I think it's fair to say that the risk element to "Benji" is greater. But that does not mean I have decided he is going to be crap in advance.

My sincerest apologies - but you can see how it wasn't exactly a leap from what you posted.

Watching Mussachio yesterday for Villareal against Barcelona left me thinking what could have been. He was absolutely fantastic for them, and is tailor-made to partner Vertonghen. A shame we couldn't have signed him.

As for other failed signings, the lack of an addition at LWF really is an issue for us. If Eriksen or Lamela are hurt for any period of time, we're going to be struggling for goals. We already can't score against the top 4 (2 goals in our last 9 games against them), so someone like Remy or Depay (in incredible form for PSV at the moment) would've been ultra key signings in my opinion.

Speaking of Remy, I really want to know why we didn't go for him before Chelsea showed an interest? There had to have been a month there after the Liverpool failed medical where we had a chance to sign him, surely? Was Pochettino not interested? The transfer fee seemed reasonable given that he is a 1 in 2 goal scorer in this league who can play LWF and Striker.

And rightly so. I don't want us to be another Leeds.

So you can see Levy borrowing against future season ticket sales? That in a nutshell is what killed Leeds.

Speculating to accumalte is what all good businesses do at some point. To dismiss this by simple scaremongering is simply misunderstanding risk and how a business can grow.
