I read that we'd pulled out of any deal for the Ukraine winger after Liverpool spat their dummies out and just whacked the bid up. If all else fails, just throw a butt load more money at it.

No big deal though, the last position we need to strengthen is the wings.

Happy to take Berba back, if it happens.
Happy to see Holtby get some game time at Fulham.
Happy for Livermore to sign for Hull.

Indifferent about Capoue but would prefer he stays I think.
Indifferent about Nani. Don't think we need him.

LMFAO at prospect of Utd trying to sign Andros. As if that will happen.

Unhappy that we won't be signing a left back.

Good luck to Jake, Tottenham boy and always tried hard so nothing against him, just not cut out for a long term career at the Lane.

I don't see why would we sell Livermore now instead of in summer. He still has something like 15 BPL games in front of him and I'm sure he'll do okay. His value will be the same or even higher in summer. Plus, we still have that Hull away fixture to play.

Or did I miss something?

Agreed. The only reason I can see this happening is Hull simply offered a price we weren't keen on refusing, and/or there are options we're actively pursuing. Making this sale the day before our meeting certainly suggests does smell fishy, regardless.

@jetsetyid: @GazzehCOYS @biscuitbeck I would rule it out if I was a betting man ;0)

JJ on Konoyplanka

I can fully understand that, we need players that have EPL experience as we don't have the time for players to settle (we got enough of those). Berba and Nani would make perfect sense even if they're on short term contracts.

Konoyplanka could just be another gamble like Soldado and Lamela, needing time to settle in

On a funnier note any player with the words Konoyplanka and Konoyplanka in their name would fit right in with the bin dippers ;)

Could not disagree more. Left wing has been our single weakest position this season.

Fair enough but we have Townsend coming back from injury and he can arguably make that position his own. Chadli isn't a bad player and Sig and Eriksen can both player there.

Konoyplanka has been described as a headless chicken type of player and not suited to the Prem so I personally dont think we need to be blowing 15 million on him. If we REALLY want a left winger, there are plenty out there in the bigger leagues in europe that we could get in summer.

That description was foolish, as he also said he didn't run the length of the pitch enough. If that ex-Goon has ever watched a single international game, all the fella bloody does is run up and down the pitch faster than whatever unfortunate soul is marking him. He was less of a gamble, and I think would've adapted really well.

Yeah - by some mug who has clearly never seen him play.

The guy is quite a bit like Willian, just a bit quicker. Would be ideal for us.

Well this has to be the most boring TW I can remember since they introduced the summer/winter windows. We've clearly got too many players to keep them all happy, so outgoings seem the most likely. Great plan to sell Defoe (/sarcasm) as that leaves us with two strikers, with one unable to score. As for Berbatov coming back six years later, no thanks. Adebayor is faster, works harder, and has shown he'll score given game time.

On a separate subject, it's 8 years since some SC-ers went down to the training ground to give Martin Jol a 50th birthday cake. And information gleaned that day resulted in the birth of the best transfer rumour/ITK forum for any sport in the entire world. Congrats to those who've kept it going!

Capoue- ''It's hard. I’ve gone from a definite starter to someone who thinks about playing. It's the first time this has happened to me''.

On Tim wanting to use him as a defensive option like Avb did- “I am not surprised. It is the English way. They don't know much about foreign players.”

“If I don't play, it will be difficult [to go],” he said. “If something [a move] presents itself, we'll talk.”
