Well we now have a squad full of players that actually want to play for us do I'd say that makes us stronger overall! Plus the one thing I wanted most today was striker cover which I think Dempsey gives us... Can he play the lone striker?

Absolutely gutted, so much false hope being given over the past few days.
Mout's was the one that we missed out on today, but what about all of the back up plans we supposedly had, was Dempsey back up for all of these? Awesome
And where is our back up striker?
Chill.......Levyti.....OH never mind

for the last time we did not want to sell modric and vdv. whether the signings work we will know soon enough. We could be Arsenal or Liverpool ffs.
Who made moutinho the messiah? He hasn't really set the world alight and is not a patch on Modric. Modric is in a group of three or four world class deeplying playmakers (xavi, schweinsteiger). We could not possibly 'replace' him. I would argue that we did replace vdv with dempsey who is a major goal threat and out scored vdv last season. plus vdv a 29 year old for 10m is a great deal.
LLoris is the french captain and has the potential to be the best in the world. de gea 25m lloris 8m says it all.

Some spoilt little children on here it seems. Yes it's a shame about Moutinho but we've made some great signings! I for one can't wait to see the new additions in Spurs shirts. Don't point the blame at Levy just yet for Moutinho, there were obviously more complicated technicalities with this transfer than it seems.

From BBC:

The transfer window shut 16 minutes ago but there is potentially £36m-worth of signings still up in the air. No word yet on Joao Moutinho's move to Tottenham or Javi Garcia's switch to Manchester City.

Am gonna wait until garcia has been confirmed by City then 5 mins more. Imagine, city confirm the biggest transfer of the window and then BOOM.

Not gonna happen is it? fuck it, i'm doing nothing else...

I just don't understand how it went from Moutinho being agreed and wanting to come here to it collapsing? Surely we had an idea of wage demands. I smell an agent.

we
Fair enough but we sold modric, vdv and several squad players and lost king. And weren't really desperate for a keeper. Not an awful window maybe but certainly not great. Only avb can really assess it

We lost Ledley several seasons ago.....whatever you think of DL he tries his best to plan for success and for the future....

Thanks for a fun window. A pity a few people had to tarnish this thread today with abuse, and some words which are well beyond the pale. I trust the mods will be wielding their ban sticks in due course.
