I personally think that 25m euros for a player i hadnt heard about till last week is way too much. He could be a star but Brazilian starlets are way overpriced (Ganso, Oscar, Neymar, Moura). Id much rather spend that money on a top class striker or a replacement for Luka proven in Europe (Moutinho, etc).

Well it might be if you were a brazil based scout, but as you're a fat dude sitting at your laptop like the rest of us, perhaps it isn't...

Apparently if you end a sentence with "FACT" it makes the statement a bit more true. Which is ironic, because in this situation the original poster has not got the factual bit right in the sentence.

Oh the irony.

Or something.

Back to Leds and Oscar. Part of me is glad that Leds has stepped down from a playing perspective, then there's no more "should we just play him anyway" type of situation. Still an absolute legend though. And no, it's not "not ITK", POTL is saying that Jacob isn't necessarily correct and that a decision hasn't been made in which capacity he'll be with us.

Oscar is no go for me. I just don't believe it.

To be fair...

Willem Korsten, Steffen Iversen, Ilie Dumitrescu, Pav, Rebrov, Postiga, Boateng, Gunther, Dervitte, Dozzell, Rasiak, Zamora, El Hamdoui, Gilberto, Younes (1st time around), Blondel....

ETC.

Wasn't Lucas (not the Liverpool one) and Ganso the brightest attacking talents coming out of Brazil?

Pardon, my knowledge of Brazilian football is a bit limited but i'm not sure whether to be excited or not with this proposed deal for Oscar.

We weren't afraid to spend money in Harry's time, I guess now we don't have Redknapp umm-ing and ahhh-ing about who he wants to bring in - remember Aguero, Falcao, Llorente, Carroll bids in January 2011.

AVB appears to know who he wants and Levy (and whomever else now giving us money) sanctioning big moves, this could be a very exciting summer.

Been personally overseen. Was scouted by IB first, and AvB when over there in April/May.
25m Euros. Club Record.

AvB was scouting in Apr/May, when he was out of work?
Value increased from 10m (when Liverpool were interested, last August?) to 25m in under a year?
Work permit?

The same was said of Giovani dos Santos

Gio was thought to be good but i never saw it, personally i cou;dn't understand that if he was that good then why would the best team in the world just sell him for £6m? This other lad is playing for Brazil and his team are after top dollar as they don't want him to go. I think his reputation is already better than Gios was before he singed for us

You got me there hehe..... But i still think 25 m for a youngster is way too much and in a position where we have Vdv and maybe Sid.
Id rather spend that money on Moutinho, Huntelaar, Falcao, for example.

25m for Oscar? Are we richer than Man City now? You'd expect City to spend that kind of money on a player. Doubt Levy will sanction such a deal.

Not necessarily for us (whilst Chelsea are paying him - ouch). But there have been one or two stories that he has spent his time out of work scouting the footballing world for talent.
