Not to me. But I guess we don't actually know the scenario other than a load of players have been allowed to leave and he hasn't. I guess if there was no agreement with Ms that he'd be allowed to leave, and/or the issue was we weren't offering anywhere close to his value, then he'd be being a bit of a prick.
Put it in context - if you only have a 15 year career and your boss said you can go if an offer comes in from a competitor that will double your salary and get you recognition on a higher stage (in MS case a chance to play for France) and when that chance does arrive, your boss says "actually no way" - then you would be f**ked off and be tempted to play up so he has enough of you and moves you on
