from what i can gather they are the only PL team to show any interest in paying him the kind of money he wants. and he does seem to want the PL

Is your friends contact that phoney 'Freelance Journalist' on twitter as he's just tweeted exactly that...?

Diame to Spurs rumours really picking up..... would he be a good signing or not ? opinions #COYS

Don't know about this guy, but 63 000 followers.

Diame played very well today. Positive in attack, good dribbling in the final third, creative with his ideas, and as always he was strong in defense.

Would anyone take Gary Hooper? Unproven at premier league level, and plays in a pub league, but the boy can finish, and is still young...

Either way it sounds like Sandro is out for the guts of a year. Got to be replaced ASAP with M'vila or Diame etc. As said before Parker and Dembele both carrying injuries and Livermore/Hudd not good enough to start in key matches in 3 competitions.

Wouldn't have Diame in as someone who can fill in for Sandro as he isn't a holding midfielder.

But as second fiddle to Dembele, I think we can't go too wrong for £3.5m. Powerful box-to-box midfielder, who has a good level of skill to carry the ball forward well. Would prefer Moussa Sissoko to be honest, but it seems he's off to OM, and to be fair he hasn't been tested at PL level unlike Diame.

Rather him than Jones. Would have something to prove in a new league. We can do better though!
We could, Hooper probably wouldnt be cheap either, but a finisher is what we need and he certainly knows where the goal is...

And he came through our youth academy

Ok, as requested, sorry if it is difficult to read, I'll try and clean it up later but the quoting on SO is a nightmare:

Jasper Watch Pt 2 - AVB and Finances

My take is that sponsorship deals such as stadium naming rights and shirt deals are being negotiated and these depend on the club selling its medium-term vision to companies big enough to spend big on us.

We have to attract big names. This means great performance on the pitch. This means investment in players.

We have to buy these players and we also have to pay for the NDP.

We have limited funds.

It's a tricky time!

100% bang on but not really tricky tbf. Bigger problem if AVB continues to do well, refuse to sign extension in summer then bigger problems than what they have now. This time the fans will see it is all the board and DL and there will be no more places to hide or people to blame. Simple as that!

there is a sense in your posts that AVB is irked by a failure to get his players in. do you get the sense that he is feeling a little bit 'bait and switch' with DL, or do you think he understood the constraints of our system when he signed up?

Stitched up is more to the point, and not being backed with his players. Promises broken, and here I go public in saying he expected either William or Mouts this window and was assured that. Also remember he is very close with both players, selling clubs and their agents, so he knows the truth.

Over a few hundred thousand we are haggling with Shalke, that is how crap it is. I say this to see it leaked and the board do something.

Because of what I know my opinion is we are seen as kind of thick knob heads. There you go i have said it, thats right, we are seen as knob heads.

Who? The fans, or Levy and the Club...and by whom? Potential sponsors?

Fans my friend, the sponsors are there but we are not Harrods, so you cannot ask Harrods prices based in Knightsbridge. Therefore we need the money as we have not much so the financier/sponsor's terms within reason.

Yes we will I believe, two players is in the pipeline, one we all know and the other is a choice of 3-4, but there is where friction has stepped in. I have shared this and what those frictions are with sources with a selected few so please no pm's asking.

So Holtby and 1 of 3-4 others. Hmm, i dont think it will be a striker then

AVB wants Holtby, another DM, and a striker that will not cost more than 10M. In the summer he will settle for one more, with a sale to achieve another is how i understand it.

Thank Jasper.
Do you mean a striker costing up to 10 million, or both a DM and striker costing a combined 10 million?

STRIKER NOT EXCEEDING 10M (SORRY FOR CAP LOCKS NOT SHOUTING)

Cheers for this Jasper. I totally agree that losong AVB would be the worst possible thing, i honestly can't think of anyone I'd rather have.

Hopefully we can sneak top 4 this year then give him more control/the players he wants.

Top 4! Top 3! Top 2! Will make no difference to how the board thinks as a whole, they will say 'you achieved it with our model...so carry on and we still will not but a William/Moutinho' for example. Offering the price is one thing. And there are ways around 3rd Party ownership-Pay by agreement then there is no more, they then contract with the player and agent and receive fees et el. How hard is that may I ask. That is what most clubs in EPL are doing and get around it.

My pleasure Mr Rat though lord only knows what your's is!!
Just for reference the zebra in my avatar was above the age of consent.

Seriously though we need to get some guys of the wage bill- unfortunately players these days seem happier sitting watching games and being paid a shit loas for doing it rather than playing week in week out.
I am sure when the retire and they are sat with their model/singer/tv presenter wife/girlfriend there might be a bit of regret for wasting some of their short playing career.

With regards to moutino he is like that hot girl who is in a relationship and says she likes you and wishes her boyfriend was more like you and just when your about to pull her she says she's not going to leave him but wants to still be friends with you. You hope that one day she will leave him for you but you just need to realise that you have to move on and find a girl who isn't as hot but ultimately will provide you with all the same things!!

M'villa Holtby and negrado will be welcome additions in jan!? Fingers crossed

Pool are starting to worry me, lucky for us they are inconsistent.
Trouble is they are bound to get their act together sooner or later.

Chuck the finance stuff in, just as interesting to read and it's still ITK.

Jasper Quotes - sorry about formatting

As Archie rightfully stated there is finance issues, so if we signed Mouts we would not sign William, the other summer would be a possibility but not both.

When asked about if we had sponsorship agreed.
No not at all, he is struggling to get the prices he wants.

its a very complicated situation. the club in its own right is rich. we are quite well run and do things in the right way.
we have major issues right now. the club effed up last season when ch leauge was a sure thing. firstly harry stitched us. then we failed to back him with players to take us over the nn means they dont need to spend big and lower expectations. what happens then is the boss is expected to work mirackes with what he has and if he gets fourth all good but the club wont go all out. even when we are in champs we wont spend as the boss is given squad players to covepr the season.
dont expect this to change.

now to the major prob. no naming rights. until this is done nowt will be happening. the club wont do the ndp without the rights. one issue is 'selling' the club to interested parties. as jasper said we want big money but r acting smalltime. we dont spend big we dont go all out we dont win things we hardly get top 4 we have no top asian or m e players so no real exposure or connection with the rich or interested.

we are doing brand work but not in the right places. buying the korean guy might be an idea we need exposure. so to an interested party we do none of the above and to make matters worse tottenham is not the sw*nkiest of places. investors know all this so can play hard ball but they come up against the hardest of ball players. to be honest toon are possibly a more attractive prop with their 50k who all serious hardcore shirts n all.

we havent got alot going for us yet we give it the bigguun. we got history and a good fanbase thats it really. we dont pay well or speculate.

LL played roulette last year and lost. (harry has a lot to answer for with wot he did). this jan LL cant afford to play that game again. with bale ready to go and other top players ready to run he needs to back the boss.

for those who asking for info i guess its either none to give or very sensitve which is why jasper cant say much.

be ready for deadline day

Jasper - Spot on absolutely on every single word. AVB will not leave in summer, he just won't extend. We are at a cross roads because AVB exceeded expectations and this they know. We will never spend 20m on two players much less one for real, but will push against wishes against one and cry 'we have no more money' . Those asking about 'This is not for Transfer thread' it is. I want us to smell the roses and stop dreaming because it will not happen. Sponsor will not invest on unrealistic terms, and truth be known they are playing their own hard ball. I believe ENIC has reached it's optimum limits and has decisions to make. There are investors and serious ones ready to come in but want more than naming rights. This leads back to transfers and it is very simple to me; Back the manager!!!

If they cannot be will prove his quality And move on within 2 years we won't allow him to come to end of contract and get zero. Typical ENIC mentality. Two players will. One in hopefully but will it be AVB's signings

This is really interesting stuff but I think the scale of the task facing Tottenham (and to a large extent Levy) is being underestimated.

Can anyone name another non CL club that hadn't been financially doped that has built a training complex like Spurs or has plans to build a 60000 sweater stadium on its current location?

There is not another club in Europe even attempting it as far as I'm aware. Surely the only way the model can work is to squeeze the absolute most out of all deals and transfers...

Jasper - Very innovative I agree but offers are there and good ones. If ENIC cared about the club and not as a lucrative business which is their ambition, to sell at a massive profit and fair enough on this; I again say we are not Harrods so hang your basket not too high. You cannot have it both ways, and we certainly do not pay the best and fed up of all these statistics showing different.

It is my own personal opinion that ENIC have to prove me wrong from what I have knowledge of. Do not ask me to name and shame etc because I will not, and know how agents have been seriously embarrassed by how we have conducted ourselves, and this goes for investors. Ask the question why no sponsorship in certain areas? Please, no uneducated pumped out explanations about 'getting the best deal'. We may soon be 'snookered' if we are not careful.

Best thing to happen in many ways was AVB doing better than what they expected, and actually very educated and knowledgeable having more contacts than this committee with all its members. such a friggin fiasco, and now they may become unstuck. Based on what some may ask; What is known to me and will not go further.

levy will get my season ticket thrown at him.
I hope you got a strong arm ;)

I remember one season we got thrashed at home to Blackburn (I think) and waves of season tickets got thrown onto the pitch when their third or was it their fourth? goal went in..............We'd had a really shitty season and they finally snapped en masse and made the ultimate gesture of sacrifice and disgust.......Levy must have gone pale.

It was our last game of the season.
