Weirdly (I’m desperately trying to find a positive), the yanks thrashing us isn’t the worst thing in the world because it will go to their heads…they will think they’re going to dominate for years now etc the way they’re acting now and stricker talked said as much.
They clearly have great players but playing on foreign soil is a whole new ball game. I heard after their wins in 2008 and 2016 that things were going to change. Still haven’t won in Europe since 1993. If they beat us in italy, only then can we start talking about a new era.

Record defeat it is…Fitzpatrick blew it…think his Ryder cup record is played six lost six. Not sure the Ryder cup is for him.

Before it started I thought we’d be beaten comfortably, but didn’t foresee a record defeat.

Will hopefully be a bit different in Rome, but it doesn’t bode well. They just have such strength in depth. A whole conveyor belt of quality players. Most of them still to reach their peak as well.

For sure but we didn’t see them play under pressure all week…bit easier to hit shots make putts when you’re dominating and have a massive home crowd behind you.

Oh well. Here’s hoping Europe have learnt a few lessons - surely the amount of picks a captain has should be the same for both teams? - and we come back strong in Rome.

Final comment on this. Just heard Harrington praise the us fans for how they’ve been towards the team etc….couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
obviously he’s not solely to blame for this defeat…but we needed to have a Rottweiler for a leader to fight fire with fire at this Ryder cup…not someone making nice nice with everyone and thanking people for the abuse they’ve handed out for three days. Fcuk me.

In fact I think it's clever. They'll know they were shitty. Had he said they were disgraceful they'd be even worse next time round over there.

I don't expect much to ever change on US soil in regards to fans but maybe he was trying to set it up a little different for the next away Ryder Cup.

USA always look great on paper don't they...such a shame for them that it's played on grass. I'm backing our experience and team ethic to shine through, take a 3/4 point lead into the singles, leaving them too much to do to make up the deficit.

USA 13 vs Europe 15
Well this aged well...
