Oh well. Here’s hoping Europe have learnt a few lessons - surely the amount of picks a captain has should be the same for both teams? - and we come back strong in Rome.

no, because Europe is comprised of so many different countries and groupings of players. More picks could lead to more controversy over who the captain picks. EG Harrington picking Lowry (not saying that was wrong btw ). We need a higher amount of auto qualifying on merit for clarity and decreasing the chance of fractures in my opinion

Yeah I get that but picks technically give you a chance to pick players in form going into it (appreciate Harrington didn’t really do that). But problem with having qualifying points for two years is someone can qualify based off what they did for 12–18 months and be stinking the place out by the time the Ryder cup comes around.
Regardless, I don’t think one team should have option to pick more than the other. Should be same set-up for both teams.

What a dissapointing Ryder cup. Not sure what Padraig was thinking to be honest.
Europe should really think about changing their rule from 3 to 6 captains picks like USA, so the Captain can pick players who's in form.

I saw a stat for the whole tournament that DJ was like -19 overall. Morikawa -18. Rahm -16 next on the list was -10.
The bottom 6 of 7 was englishmen. They're so overrated. It's really time for someone else.

Out in Dubai this week for work and sorely tempted to play the Faldo course at the Emirates one night. Only 9 holes as ridiculously hot (even if I tee off at 9pm) but think the experience will be incredible. A little bit worried as I haven't had time to even pick up a club for a month and my last round was a disaster.

Booked!! So excited for it now. Just popped into Dubai Mall to buy a polo shirt so that I can get on the course.

9 holes of golf Thursday night, back to hotel, wake up and fly home...perfect end to a working week! Not expecting the golf itself to be so good though

Maybe he shouldn’t have picked Poulter but his other 2 picks were obvious picks. He should have fought for more picks though. From my understanding the option was there originally.

I understand all the advantages of having more picks. Just explaining why I’m not sure it will happen. Maybe I’m wrong though. What should definitely happen is Europe should revise how the merit system works.

What an experience last night. Play like crap for the 1st 5 holes but sort of expected that as haven’t played in a month, used rental clubs and it was around 43degrees (tip: don’t wear cotton shorts or polos! ?) with the humidity but I still loved nearly eve second of it. The views of Dubai at night from the course we’re insane.

Course wise the grass took some getting used to as even if you hit the fairway it was sort of like being in the first cut back home as was very spongy and the ball would sit down in it, with pitches you have to try and land on the front edge or the grass around the edge will kill the ball dead. Putting was also surprisingly slow which took a bit of getting used to. All in all my 50 for the 9 wasn’t so bad.

I ended up playing with 3 Dubai residents, one of which is the current CEO of the ICC but sadly he didn’t invite me to come back out in 2 weeks time to watch any of the world cup ?.

Unsure where to post this, but

I'm looking for a nice, Spurs golf polo (Simple color or scheme with the logo on the breast). Nike's website doesn't seem to have any. Our club website has a million but unsure on that any are the correct fabric. Looking for the comfortable, stretchy athletic fabric (Peter Millar esque), not 100% cotton. Also, don't want to order one from the website and have to go through the hassle of getting it, it not being the correct fabric and going through returns.

Has anyone bought one from the website or elsewhere that matches this description?

Thanks.

Sports direct might be worth a try, might not necessarily be a golf shirt as such, but you'll definitely find some sort of Tottenham Polo shirt.

How'd it go? I played it on a simulator at my local Trackman range over Xmas and it was a bitch! Too many trees! :ROFLMAO:
I have had golf lessons and the pro always using trackman which is a great tool so I can go back and research all my lessons.

Shot 83 - Par 73 - Duffed my 1st tee shot and also the next shot (didn’t think I was nervous!!!) but then settled down and was pretty steady. Plenty of room either side of the tree lined fairways but the actual fairway was very narrowly mowed and the first cut was tough!
Was a bit disappointed with the condition of the course as the fairways were pretty wet and lots of bare patches on the outskirts of the greens! Still great obviously and some iconic holes. Nice solid par on 18 too!

Two weeks after that was lucky enough to get invited to Royal St Georges which was absolutely fantastic. Dry as a bone, fairways & greens brilliant. Lots of semi blind shots but luckily my partner told me where to hit it and generally I did!! Shot 83 there too. Par 70 Birdied No4!! - one of the toughest holes in golf, lovely jubbly!

My handicap is 6.8 atm…

Well played! Great to get to experience both of those legendary courses.
