I agree absolute winner mentality, plays every game like it’s his last.
Exactly that and with the greatest respect of not wanting to dwell on the subject, it’s worth pointing out he did a hell of a lot of good off the field.

Anyway, back to Tottenham. Fingers crossed Traoré is registered in the next 48 hours and can go to town on Tierney.

You must have missed the last 2 sets of accounts then, the fact our owners have only once put their money in (which they then took back) and that half our deals in the summer were loans. The money isn’t going to appear by magic unless there’s outwards investment or Levy decides to use money he expects to accumulate in the next financial year. It doesn’t work any other way unless you sell players. It’s basic football finance. Where else is the money going to come from?

not the thread for discussing accounts but they can be made to show anything you like so wouldn't read too much into it.

as for traore, guess we're waiting for mendes' domino deals to kick in before it comes to our turn.

Don't worry, the cut off to sign a player in time for Sunday is tomorrow noon because there's a Friday fixture. Take your your sweet time Mendes.

Ah so you want to sign him in time for the NLD? That's going to be another 2m commission

The next 5 games probably make or break our season.

We need new signings asap.

Not one Summer does a swallow make.

I rather we have a clear plan and do things properly getting the right players in and out.

If that means losing something from this season in order to be stronger going forward then so be it.

Saw a few mention that we should be focusing on strengthening the back line and while I agree in the long-term I think we're fine until Summer.

It actually blows my mind that we're tied for the 5th best defense in terms of GA in the PL! Think of some of the losses we had this season too, giving up 12 goals against United, Palace, Chelsea, Arsenal - meaning we've given up just 8 PL goals in the other 14 matches.

1. City - 13
2. Wolves - 14
3. Chelsea - 16
4. Liverpool - 18
5. Brighton & Us - 20

With our GD just at 3, we really need to create more chances and score more goals to put some of these matches out of reach. We used to score for fun a few seasons ago ffs!

The club desperately needs champions league football. Without it, we will really struggle to get the summer signings that have widely been reported; Kessie, Vlahovic, De Vrij, etc.

Imagine if Arsenal pips us to 4th this year? We're probably going to be fishing in the same pool of players.

We're actually in a decent position league-wise, so the club now needs to back the manager in order to finish the season strongly.

Look at Villa and how they've already backed Gerrard by signing Coutinho and Digne.

Do you honestly think either Paratici or Conte came here on a sell to buy basis?

I don't think any of us did but I think we all expected progress to be made by this point of the window. Newcastle and Villa are already closing in on their second signings and neither are likely to stop there.

We have 3 potentially season defining games before deadline day too.

Hopefully things will kick on soon, it's clear there was an important meeting on Monday so that explains the delay a little.

How do you know progress hasn't been made? By all accounts a deal is very close with Traore from what we're led to believe.

I don't really care about Newcastle signing Trippier and Wood. Nor Villa signing Coutinho and Digne. (Both of course, cash rich clubs too).

12th Jan. Please be calm.

I'm still calm. I just expected us to be more proactive considering we have a quality new manager to support.

My worry is the Son injury ahead of 3 massive and tough PL games. Someone like Adama could make a difference in one of those games, even if just as an impact sub. Hopefully that one will go through this week.
