I took a look at some of the suggestions.

Hojbjerg looked a tough character with a good eye to going forward as well. Excellent player. Didn't really see his talent in tackling as most was of his forward play. We Need a DM.

Zakaria looks like a good player again not to sure of his defensive play

Camavinga again not a defensive stalwart

Sander Berge big guy kind of box to box I think. A bit Schneiderlin. Not sure its what we need.

Florentina Luis IS a tackler. So would probably be a good DM

If anyone can add anything as a lot of these players don't have defensive videos mostly skills etc

Some interesting options mentioned. Who ever they chose hope it is done before the Euros!

Amadou Diawara - AS Roma

Ibrahim Sangaré - Toulouse...this lad is pretty imposing. Good range of passing, loves a tackle, good at interceptions and blocks.

Only 22, he's certainly one to keep an eye on.

complete left field option doubt he ever plays in Europe. Andres Colorado, he would be like having a Davinson Sanchez in midfield.

That’s not something I’d want...
i know it doesnt sound great but I love the idea of the physical presence and raw athleticism he'd bring. While being really cheap. Just as long as he keeps it as simple as possible in possession.

I think JM will look to convert Gedson long term.

Where do you get that idea from?

From the very limited glimpses we’ve seen from him so far I don’t see much aggression or much of a defensive mindset.

Amazing call if your correct but I don’t see a DM in him at all, far from it

Mentioned elsewhere but I'd love to see Konrad Laimer come in to be the DM. 22 years old, plays in the high-energy RB Leipzig side so feel like that's a good indicator of him being a solid fit for the rigors of the EPL. Averages about 6 defensive actions per match in the league (incredibly good given his versatility, more on that...). RB Leipzig are very much full throttle, direct in attack and Laimer, who plays in their "deeper midfield" of their 4-2-2-2, is responsible for basically pressing the shit out of their opponents out of possession, while also operating as an outlet in their attack.

RB Leipzig are superrrrr fun to watch, because in full bloom their flow in attack and unison in pressing is nothing short of awe-inspiring. But, Laimer is super versatile in that he can operate in multiple roles in midfield (he's not a really incisive passer, but he's a solid distributor), and he's got a fantastic motor on him. He just keeps working his ass off and that's why his defensive stats are so good, despite how much freedom he has in Nagelsmann's setup.

I don't think Jose is looking for a static DM. Instead, I see him looking for a guy that can operate at the base, and with Ndombele and Lo Celso sitting in front (of a 4-3-3), able to move forward in possession while providing a security blanket to break up any counter. Laimer would most definitely fit that role perfectly.

That being said, the biggest question mark for this is if Laimer is even interested in moving. Apparently he's in talks on a new contract and I saw a quote recently saying he wants to stay longer. From everything I can find, his contract expires in 2021.

No need to worry. We have Wanyama! Apparently he's so fit and so in form that we refused to let him go to Amiens. I'm sure he'll make loads of appearances in DM for Spurs and everything will be fine...

If you believe the reason we didn’t sell Wanyama to Amiens is we refused to sell then you’ll believe anything.

Only one outlet has reported that and they are extremely unreliable.

Amiens top earner is on less than €20k a week.

I am not sure why people think Skipp is a DCM? To me he looks like a 'busy' player who is a tidy passer. But I have not seen positional and situation awareness from him - that ability to be in the right place to snuff out danger in the Makele mould. And he is not the most athletic either and does not swallow up ground and players alike as he dominates the middle 30m radius for the pitch - as Wanyama in his prime did. He just looks like a sensible, tidy passer, and neither Poch orJose (both of whom have a track record for using very effective DCMs in their best sides have considered him for that role.... Poch: Sneiderlin (when he was good), Dier (when he was good), Wanyama (when he was fit), Jose: Makele, Cambiasso, Stankovic, Matic, )

Skipp is a DM, that's where he plays his best over the years I've watched him. He has excellent positional awareness, it's something that really caught my eye watching him for our academy.

He is tenacious, he is mobile, he reads the game well and he will get stronger and quicker over the next couple of years. He should be the backup/rotation to a new DM for us.

In the meantime, if we aren't going to use him, send him out on loan.

In terms of DM targets, we need Denis Zakaria or Florentino Luis.

This is how they stack up defensively against Soumare in terms of tackles and interceptions:

Zakaria
2.4 tackles per game
1.6 interceptions per game

Luis
2.9 tackles per game
4.1 interceptions per game

Soumare
1.1 tackles per game
0.8 interceptions per game
