I think the English media are really making a big deal of this because of what has gone on before, particularly during and after the England game last week. They were waiting for him to mess up after what he said and low and behold it took him a matter of days. They guys is scum.

But come on, a lifetime ban? A few games internationally. Its not in normal human nature and its more weird to see someone doing it as its so unaccepted in our society. I think if it was someone who didn’t play in the prem and didn’t just single handedly beat England the press would not really give a sh1t, as it is, and its him they are going to go on and on and on about this to milk it for all its worth.

We need to be realistic, its primitive and the guy clearly has mental issues but it’s a petty stupid thing, not something that is going to end a career or the like.

See I just don't get this "not career threatening" shite.

Here is the prognosis for human bites if infections sets in.

To wildly assume that a bite is just a trivial thing and not really that serious is just farcical. If a dog bites a human it is generally put down, yet a human bite carries more risk of infection than a dog bite.

Indeed which is why I mentioned its potentially life threatening earlier even if someone thought it was funny.

Most people don't know how they got HBV, HCV and etc. and unfortunately find out when its gets serious.

I seen people who got a virus, beat themselves up about how they got it and why(I work in a hospital). Not to mention heard people been told they were lucky we found it otherwise scarring and etc could of done irreversible damage which with some bad lifestyle habits could mean death.

Don't know if anyone has posted this but the independent picked up on a pic of Suarez and Chiellini at the confederations cup last summer, did he try unsuccessfully to get him before?

Come on, that's a trademark Suarez bite face. I think he's beyond getting the benefit of the doubt now :p

Let me ask all you guys a simple question:

What would you rather, a player dive in recklessly (like Charlie Adam does frequently for example) on Eriksen or bite him on the shoulder ?

You cant answer that though can you. Diving in recklessly and he might miss

Having a player bite is taking a lottery that he wont cause an infection, doesnt have a serious disease and etc.

If I was on the street and had the choice between someone punching me or biting me, the punch every day of the week.

If it could be proved that Adam was deliberately going in to hurt people, then this would be a fair comparison.

But the fact is that challenges like Adam's are part of the game. There will be challenges like that which are malicious and some which are reckless, and some which are just crap tackling (like Marchisio last night). It's true that they may cause a lot more damage than Suarez's biting antics, but they are a part of the game.

Biting is not part of the game. There is no excuse for it. It is only ever going to be malicious. You can't 'recklessly' or 'carelessly' bite someone. It is a deliberate act with only one desired outcome, and that is why it should be dealt with much more severely, even if the actual impact on the victim may be much less severe.

The same can be said of spitting. In terms of what I'd rather have happen to Eriksen (for example) it would be much safer for him to be spat at than Adamed, but I know which one I'd much rather see punished more severely.

The key difference between those two is that one is often attempt to win a ball (though not in Adam's case) and part of the game, whereas the other is just an attack which has no place in football

Not to mention that someone who bites you is deranged whereas someone who punches or kicks you isn't necessarily, perhaps just overly hyped or lost temper, and finally the reckless dive is often no more than simple ineptitude.
