Rob, is it worth updating the Terms and Rules page with that info? It might not be obvious to everyone that there are separate rules for ITK, especially when the Transfer forum isn't open.

In relation to going “through the usual procedures”, could you remind a half-wit of what these may be? I did search for the SC forum ‘user-manual’, but couldn’t locate the document in big print.

The problem is, old chap that you labelled what you said as ‘ITK’.

That particular phrase carries far greater weight, especially on SC, than ‘something I heard’. It carries a particular cachet and, especially given that the Mods (and I'd also point out that Rob has every right to call himself the ‘Boss’ seeing as he owns the site) vet info before it’s posted to ensure that it isn’t simply a rumour (or worse, just someone on a wind-up).

I’ve not seen anyone ‘wet their beds’ over what you posted, just people questioning the veracity of it. Picking apart what you wrote and highlighting some of the things that struck an unlikely chord:

• Poch generally manages his own managing career. If there is any contact with United, it seems unlikely that he would have someone doing so on his behalf, given his general MO when it comes to that sort of thing;
• Kane’s supposed ultimatum. That seems highly out of character. Sure, none of us can say for absolute certain, but it doesn’t resonate with the type of person Kane appears to be.

This two specific things makes what you posted ring false.

Now, if you’d prefaced what you’d said as ‘this is something I heard, not sure what to make of it’ or something of that ilk, then the response wouldn’t have been quite so vociferous. But you claimed that it was ITK, which is deemed on this site as genuine information.

I’m not going to claim that you’ve been mugged or that you’re on a wind-up - that, to me, doesn’t matter - just that you need to understand what your self-ascribed label entails.

I find it entirely plausible that one or two wantaway players may have had their noses put out of joint if/when Poche pointed out to them that if they wanted to win things they should probably play better in games like the CL final.

No idea whether such conversations took place, but it's certainly more likely than Kane of all people being upset by Poche's "attitude".
