Teams have been parking the bus against us for years, on the whole we seemed to have worked how to play against those sides last year with the same group of players. Weve never had the players to break through the lines, but we used to win it back and attack so quickly that the opposition had no time to set up, leaving Alli and Eriksen in space to do their thing. For whatever reason we arent doing that anymore, i think its mainly a midfield problem but Walker missing probably doesnt help.
If anything at Wembley with the larger area to play in it should be easier attacking like this. It’s weird. I wouldn’t say the smaller teams have played out of their skins either. It’s been more down to us.
Our play has been lazy in the final third against these teams at home all season. A complete lack of movement. I’ve been at the home games so am not in the match threads but I expect a lack of movement and players standing round in the final third is mentioned quite a lot in between the complaining.
