It's why the "legacy" fans are being priced out. Day trippers, tourists and Michael McIntyre don't give a monkey's.
Legacy fans are not being priced out by day trippers like me getting over 2 or 3 times a year. Fans ( that's all of us) are being priced out because of the club & it's hierarchy not because of other fans.

Everyone has a right to go to a game regardless if you live 5 mins from the stadium or have to spend the equivalent of the price of a season ticket to get to 3 games like some of us do. Put the blame where it's meant to be.

I like a lot of your posts, even though I don't always agree with your views, because you make good points. But you're always going on about the tourists and day-trippers. Like this is all somehow their fault, and the "legacy" fans are the hapless victims of it all.

How many of these legacy fans rocked up for the protest? 42,000 General admission season ticket holders, and only 300 people cared enough to go to the protest.

I asked on here if anyone went - and did not get a single reply. Granted, some might have missed my post, but for all the piss and vinegar in this thread, I would have expected at least some reports, photos, or feedback.

And quite frankly, the Michael McIntyre point is silly. He's been going to matches regularly for years. Just because he makes more money or gets tickets for free doesn't make him any less "legacy".

So, let's just stop with the gatekeeping.

I went to the protest. Pitiful turn out by the way. But making the point because its easy to complain on here about ENIC which i do regularly but important to show up to these things.

Bah... celebs sitting in the corporate box, and families of 4 paying £100 a pop don't give a monkeys about all this. And its the bunce to be made from that demographic that prices people out of a ST.

Gatekeeping? Do me a favour. More like sick of corporations chancing their arm fleecing people.
So direct your vitriol at them - not at fellow fans.

So now Michael McIntyre isn't allowed to go to games because he is a celebrity? Good grief it's getting worse and worse. He has been a proper Spur for years. Don't use someone's fame against them.

So you want club signings without reference to the manager and how he wants to work? Or How many players he believes he needs in the squad and in what positions? And he should have no veto over players recommended by the recruitment team?

I appreciate Ange doesn’t seem to dictate specific players the club should go out and get, and instead dictates the profiles he needs, but that is nowhere near having players foisted upon him.

I think people have developed a very strange belief in what happens at clubs like Brighton and Brentford.

No, that’s not what I said.

with ENIC (Levy) in charge we will forever be a financially sound (especially for our owners) club, but will never progress or challenge for anything

the man does not deserve to stumble upon success and sit there with his cheesy grin as if it was his plan all along....genuinely excited by Ange but he will shaft him as he has done every other manager we have had

We will be a business first and a football club second. ENIC’s priority ££££ first then ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I will preface the point I'm about to make by saying that this doesn't absolve Levy of any of his sins regarding his custodianship on the club.

But near every single club in the PL today had owners that care about the bottom line before the results on the pitch. The exceptions are City, Newcastle and Chelsea and those clubs aren't run for the good of the game or even the good of the club. They're tools for sportswashing and money laundering.

Glazers, FSG, Kroenke, ENIC, fucking everybody else all care about the bottom line first and the actual football second. Brighton and Brentford have done phenomenally well on the pitch given their resources precisely because their bottom line is in order.

Levy's failings are entirely on the football side of things. He has spent poorly on the wrong things or not spent at all. The football strategies have been non-existent and any success we've had seems to have been blind luck. The academy was neglected for years and we're only now getting back to a position of strength there.

Those are Levy's failings. The financials are not.

Pitiful turnout? Perhaps it just demonstrated the actual underlying feelings, compared to your own? I'm sure it's important to you to turn up to these things, but the evidence suggests it's not so important to anyone else.

The bottom line for a football club is results, the bottom line for business is £. That’s one of the big reasons there is no winning culture at this football club.

Every year people say that he can't continue to get away with it, and every year he continues to get away with it.

How is this man still getting away with it!?

But if you don't have the £, you can't get the results. If you don't have the £ you do a Leeds, a Portsmouth, or worst case a Bury or Macclesfield.

My post wasn't defending the way Levy has spent the £. His failure is how he has spent them.

Maybe it wasn't intended as such but that read as very condescending haha. I don't thin it's unfair to suggest there might be more people at a protest about ticket prices given the general outrage about them or the vocal anger towards the ownership.

He no longer can be allowed to. If he didn't just lie to the supporters about what the stadium would do for us, it wouldn't be so bad. However, he just keeps stringing us along for the ride.
