5th is europa and winner of FA Cup is Europa. If winner of FA Cup is already in Europa or CL via the league then 6th gets in. Just not sure what happens is west ham win conference. Its been said to death but can't find it
Thank you! Does carabau cup change anything?

Trouble is the more we rotate the worse we get. We wont get far in either if we make too many changes. I would want us to keep enough first team players for the quality to be there. Just rotate a few players each game. If we could play Europa and field a team like it's CL we could go all the way.
If we get in the Europa or Conference then we should be able to rotate in the league section. Also a chance to blood some younger players. Its important we don't completely change the team however. 3-4 changes and rotate squad.

Gah, if Mason had been appointed earlier perhaps we'd have 5 mote points from Eve & Bou, and we'd be right in there.

One game at a time now. 5th is doable. Sliver of a chance of 4th if Utd collapse.

Huge gang coming up at Anfield

Whichever competition we go in, whether it is Europa or conference, i hope the club takes it seriously. The club needs to change its culture and one of the best ways to do that is to start winning trophies. and these competitions are well within the capabilities of the club but they have never really tried. We need to learn to walk before we start to sprint.

The conference may not have the prestige as the other 2 tournaments at the moment but dont be surprised in 10 to 20 years time that changes. Same thing happened with the Europa League. Yes i know it was rebranded from UEFA Cup and conference is basically the Cup Winners Cup.

We have lost it but for me I would sack the league off completely and try something different. Never will happen but I would love an experimental team right now

I get what you are saying - but, at the same time, a lesser competition - if we even qualify - is an opportunity to get minutes for younger players, and less-used first teamers.

That allows a new manager to work with the players a bit longer - before sending out on loan, if necessary, in January.

Imagine a Spence or Sarr getting competitive minutes. Next year we could also need to use those matches to bed in Udogie.

Bring Gil back for a look under the new manager, maybe a player or 2 in the summer who need a year or 2 to grow into a bigger role.

I would rather we let the preferred XI focus on the League, and then use the squad to play other matches. That reduces injury risk, and gives us our best chance at building a cohesive unit to compete in the league, and then also later in other competitions if we make it.

I agree that we need to find that winning mentality, but we also have to develop the next core group of players.

Although villa are in form their fixtures are the worst so we should have enough to finish above them

Think we'll finish 6th but more concerned with Brighton than Villa. I think Liverpool will finish strong and above us. Between us Villa and Brighton for 6th, 7th and 8th.

So if Levy has managed a big enough fuck up this season to get us down to 8th we avoid the LDV Vans Eurovision Tractor Trophy, he's not such a bad guy after all.

Basically if all we manage from the away games against Liverpool and Villa is a combined total of 1 point or less we are in real danger of finishing 7th or 8th because realistically I reckon if that happens we will need at least 7 points from 9 to stand a realistic chance of getting 6th, and even then we would then be reliant on Villa and Brighton slipping up badly.

I believe the top 6 is set to become the top 10 very soon.

I remember in the 00s, it was the top 4 or the Sky 4 as some used to call it. Spurs and Man city then broke into this consistently last decade which resulted in it becoming the top 6.

Newcastle have definitely joined the party to make it a 7 but i believe Aston villa will make it a 8th. Villa are a huge club with great history and potential and they seem to be on the up. West Ham are not far away now despite a poor EPL season, they also have great potential with their stadium revenue and are spending big too.

I think what will happen in the next few years is we will have a top 10 where one season a team could finish 2rd or 3rd and find themselves in 7th or 8th the following season. Like we have had this season with Arse, liverpool and Chelsea etc. I think this pattern will become the norm.

I think its good for neutral but obviously it will be frustrating for clubs and fans that have enjoyed consistency over the years. I think Man ciy are probably the only team guaranteed a top 2 finish at the moment and thats because they have pep (obviously huge money too)

The key for consistency for those clubs will be to remain patient with the manager if they are having an off season. More importantly, these top 10 teams need to entertain if results are not going as they expect them too.

Your Brightons and Leicesters will have their time under the sun when managed well but it wont last before they head back to bottom half, if not the championship. These clubs are too small and dont have the fanbase to generate the consistent revenues to stay near the top.
