Our club is sliding down the shitter at an impressive rate of knots. We've a chairman who's competence doesn't run beyond a fucking excel spreadsheet, a squad of footballers who's biggest talent is displaying consistent nonchalance, a manager who's so young he probably still wets the bed and is totally out of his depth, a transfer policy that makes one wonder if we aren't just signing names using a pin the tail on the donkey system and a world class striker who's probably had enough of watching it all unfold in front of him.

And this thread title depresses you.
Change it to the race for the ECL to make him feel better

See the difference between us and Liverpool.
They are committed and passionate.
We are passive and crap.
Poor attitude from director to defenders and all players.
Levy at fault for picking Mason
Mason at fault for picking mates
Mates at fault for passive attitude and loser mentality.
We are ran badly off the field and ran badly on field.
So so disappointing and frustrating.

I cannot believe we were in a champions league final 2 years ago. It's been a remarkable fall from grace. We will finish 9th and our star player will leave. Complete and utter capitulation

The problems started months before the final, the form was a joke. We didn't invest and this is where we are now.

We as a club have never treated the Europa League with the respect it deserves! So why should we suddenly care if we're out of it?

We were never winning it next season anyway.
So damn right. It seems only Jose was committed to try and win this trophy.
We as a club don't seem to respect any trophies - we seem to be settled on only top 4!

So the most likely scenarios now are….

We finish above Arsenal but end up having Europa Conference

OR

Finish below the worst Arsenal team and manager for decades

Never has a GIF summed this up more perfectly.

I see the latest excuse is the players are upset that Harry is leaving.
Poor, delicate flowers we should set up a help group for them.
To think I voted 5th/6th genuinely believing that was the lowest we would end up.

Lolllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Totteringham's day incoming, or whatever its fucking called. We all know it, the only sliver of chance it not happening is if the Arse shoot themselves in the foot at home to Brighton. But there's no way this spineless shitshow will avoid defeat at Leicester.

I think it needs a little bit of context. Saying CL final to 9th sounds dramatic but the rot had set in way before.

Even though we got to the CL final we were not the pinnacle of European football, we were not a good side at all. We were a bang average side for the whole of the PL season. We got absolutely schooled by Ajax at home in the semi final, there were clear issues with our performances for many many months.

I think we can look back to the summer we didn't sign anyone. We had clear weaknesses that needed rectifying and nothing was done.

At least with no European football we can use the stadium for it's true intentions more... Gigs and events. Events FC.

The thing is, if arsenal fans are celebrating because they finish above us, it speaks volumes about them and the state of their club. They will have finished seventh. That’s not something to celebrate at all. Sure I’ll be happy finishing above them, but there will be no celebrating or nose rubbing in it, it’s not good enough.

At the beginning of the season I really thought the worst would be solid results with dire football.

This is just really depressing.

For me that summer was the turning point and Poch's apparent refusal to go with second and third choices in certain positions set us back massively.

Levy's hiring and subsequent firing of Jose has just been the cherry on top.

Wish he had pulled the trigger in January and got Tuchel. I wonder if he feels the same.

It really looks like a competition that is only slightly better than the Intertoto Cup. So many teams must be trying not to be in it.
