Lovely stuff. Ireland yet again having a crap in their trousers on the big stage but brilliant from Japan.

How many of Japans players are actually Japanese?

I know some Ireland players aren't actually Irish just interested to know the breakdown.

By the way I'm just seeing it mentioned now on twitter, how weird was it seeing carberry kicking into touch at the end? Did he think they were going to concede and just wanted the losing bonus?

Yeah, must’ve been. They’ve still got a good chance to top this group. Even if they don’t they are basically guaranteed to qualify and they’re playing one of NZ or SA in the quarters so not a huge difference really.

Still amazing to see the no.1 team in the world playing for a losing bonus point against Japan.

Japan were brilliant. Ireland were poor, the discipline in the tackle and working the ball was top notch from Japan .

I think I said during the warm ups that I wouldnt be shocked if Japan beat Ireland and im not, I am surprised though. I always thought Japan would target Scotland but tbf they obviously backed themselves to win this one.

You don't seem to like Ireland very much
He's not wrong though, is he? We do shit ourselves on the big stage and playing for a bonus point against Japan isn't a great look but it might yet be an important point. He's also English and Ireland are one of their main rivals. I don't mind admitting that I don't like the England rugby side for that reason but some of my closest friends are English.

I stupidly still believe in scotland. They should just play all their mobile backs and chuck it around. Losing hamish watson is a huge blow though.

At first thought it looked a smart move by Carberry, take the losing bonus point etc

But take a look at the actual kick. He kicks it 40 yards and it bounces about a yard out of touch. If he was simply kicking it out he’d turn backwards and kick it five yards wouldn’t he?

I reckon he didn’t know time was up

Yeah Watson is a massive loss. Scotland can definitely beat Japan, though.
