Have to admit I've not seen alot of Doucoure lately. That said, when I did watch him a few times earlier in the season, he reminds me of Sissoko but with more end product and touch more finesse.

5 goals and 6 assists in 29 prem appearances isn't too shabby for a CM.

Great minds...

And that is major concern regarding Sissoko: he simply can't score goals. He's the best Spurs player since Freund who's can't kick a ball "straight".
I used to stand up for Sissoko back when he was slaughtered by Spurs fans and said he needs time. I was laughed at when I suggested Spurs could recoup the 30M they bought him for if they'd sell him.
And yes, Sissoko is not meant to be scoring regularly....but even hardworking, defensive minded players should be able to score on open goals once in a while. The situation vs Liverpool - when van Dijk preferred to mark Son rather than attack Sissoko who was through - is symptomatic of his total lack of scoring touch. The opponents basically sense he'll "never" gonna score on any of his chances no matter how big so they focuses on those Spurs players who normally will instead.
He's had a really good season and I know a few will disagree with me but if Spurs were offered 35-40M for him AND had a quality replacement lined up (who can score on a regular basis) I would strongly consider selling him.

Which leads me nicely to prices. Saw a post suggesting PSG were told Doucoure would cost between £25-40 million (bit vague ) o_Oo_O

So if it was £40 million, I feel it's highly unlikely we'll be getting the same amount for Sissoko.

IF Sissoko is worth £35-40 million, o_O I reckon Watford will be looking at £50+ million for Doucoure.

I know its 90mins.com, so not the most reliable but here is a vague idea of what PSG offered VS what Watford demanded in return in January:

Doucore Fee

€33-50 Million was the rumored range. This may increase by the end of the season but gives us a good idea of what we would be looking to pay Watford for his services.

We could literally sign anyone and there would still be someone saying we need another 'bums off seats' player. It is the most meaningless and overused player description of all time.
Yeah, maybe it's not the best phrase. I think we're entitled to say we would like a player with the "X factor" in CM, specifically. Someone who excites as an individual talent - much like Gazza did.

Also, one can infer that anyone who needs a special player to get off their seat is someone who sits down during football matches, which increases the possibility that they tell people they should sit down in the South Stand, and therefore I hate them.
Er... Grow up?

I wouldn't be surprised if that's what Watford will be wanting for him seeing how crazy prices are now a days. He's a proven EPL so if Tielmans price is 40M I can see them wanting around 45-50M for Doucoure...

PS! Never underestimate Chinese clubs ;)

For those who still dream of Kai Havertz joining Spurs....just dream on. He's set for Bayern. And his best move footballing wise for the next season will simply be....not to move to any new club. He's had an excellent season at Bayer L, and I reckon the best for him would be to spend at least another season there to keep on developing in an environment he's familiar with to establish himself as a top quality player.
He's already out of Spurs' reach anyway.

Bayern hosing up the young Bundesliga talent? Same as it ever was.

From the player’s point of view, there’s obviously so much less risk going to Bayern than moving abroad, so it’s understanble.

Apart from passing.

Good Premier league box to box midfielder, but doesn't have much in the way of technical ability.
I think he would have struggled to get his 6 assists if he didn't have the technical ability to pass! But maybe passing is not his best quality.

It seems like Bayern just rule the roost in Germany so much that every other club almost willingly hands over their best players whenever Bayern decide they want them. It's ridiculous.

In the last few years they have plundered the Bundesliga of it's best players. Don't get me wrong, it's very smart on their part but I just don't think you see this in any other league in quite such dramatic fashion. Blows my mind.

Lewandowski, Gotze and Hummels from Dortmund
Goretzka from Schalke
Sule and Wagner from Hoffenheim
Gnabry from Werder Bremen
Joshua Kimmich and Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart
Timo Werner expected to join from RB Leipzig

and now Kai Havertz as well.

I'm genuinely surprised that we don't have a consensus among Spurs fans on Winks. He's literally developing into the player Wilshere was supposed to be. But hey, the world would be a boring place if everyone agreed.

There’s not a consensus amongst fans on any player. I am a winks fan and don’t get why he’s not rated by some. Just hope that injuries don’t ruin his playing life.

I know. I just thought that "one of our own" would get a bit more leeway than others, not that Winks needs it.

I think the fact that the rest of our midfield has been Thanos snapped to dust has left a lot of pressure on him. He's done great this season though, and we really missed him when he was out.

If this new ruling is coming in, restricting the amount of outgoing loans, then Chelsea are going to have to seriously clear the decks. Could be some good young English talent available. For those who say they won’t sell to us, they may not have much choice. They cannot sustain the amount of players anymore, they either have to sell, or else hold excess squad members who simply cannot be registered and therefore won’t play competitive games. That’s just going to alienate players.
