I think the fact that the rest of our midfield has been Thanos snapped to dust has left a lot of pressure on him. He's done great this season though, and we really missed him when he was out.

When you consider he's had to cover for Dembele, Wanyama and Dier for large amounts of the season he's done a fantastic job in an unnatural position for him. Pair him up with more defensive player and allow him a bit of freedom and he'll go up another gear. Fingers crossed he can put the injuries behind and I do think that lack of options forced him into action when he could have done with a bit more rehab time.

It seems like Bayern just rule the roost in Germany so much that every other club almost willingly hands over their best players whenever Bayern decide they want them. It's ridiculous.

In the last few years they have plundered the Bundesliga of it's best players. Don't get me wrong, it's very smart on their part but I just don't think you see this in any other league in quite such dramatic fashion. Blows my mind.

Lewandowski, Gotze and Hummels from Dortmund
Goretzka from Schalke
Sule and Wagner from Hoffenheim
Gnabry from Werder Bremen
Joshua Kimmich and Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart
Timo Werner expected to join from RB Leipzig

and now Kai Havertz as well.

You forgot Manuel Neuer (Schalke) ;)

Imagine Spurs midfield duo Doucoure - N'Dombele :nailbiting::nailbiting:

Not to sound negate, but rather realistic, he - like Havertz, Fekir, Sancho, N'golo Kante, Isco, Bale (all name on the "wish list") - is out of Spurs' reach now.

dont know where he'd go. He's had some good games lately but he's 2 years removed from his PFA team of the season form.

If Leeds come up perhaps? They’ve struggled at LB this season, Barry Douglas In and out with injury then they’ve been using Alijoski there instead.

If Leeds came up and offered 25m I wouldnt turn them down, grand homecoming for Rose

I'm genuinely surprised that we don't have a consensus among Spurs fans on Winks. He's literally developing into the player Wilshere was supposed to be. But hey, the world would be a boring place if everyone agreed.

If Winks played for Leicester or Watford for example, people here would go mental about us signing him.

For those who still dream of Kai Havertz joining Spurs....just dream on. He's set for Bayern. And his best move footballing wise for the next season will simply be....not to move to any new club. He's had an excellent season at Bayer L, and I reckon the best for him would be to spend at least another season there to keep on developing in an environment he's familiar with to establish himself as a top quality player.
He's already out of Spurs' reach anyway.

So we & any other club are out of the running because of a transfer rumoured not to go through until the summer of 2020? We all know anything can happen in football, just because Bayern may have out the feelers out now doesn't mean it's a done deal. Nearly a year and a half away that's far too much time to say this ones a cert. it seems likely but I wouldn't rule him out going to a club that isn't Bayern, it's very early days in both his career and Munich's interest.

Yeah, maybe it's not the best phrase. I think we're entitled to say we would like a player with the "X factor" in CM, specifically. Someone who excites as an individual talent - much like Gazza did.

Er... Grow up?
A joke pal.

I feel like I'm the only person who still wants Dier to start. He hasn't been great this season but who has? At his best he represents the heart of the team, his passion and desire to succeed mean he will run through a wall for the club and i think he is one of the few in the club (see Kane also) who have the mentality to win leagues. Hope he re-finds his form.

I honestly believe we'll be set for midfield with Amos Skipp Winks Onomah Alli Sissoko Dier (waiting to see if Pochettinho gives Onomah he's break still have very high hopes for him).

Imo we need to really focus on the wingbacks and a left wing footed/forward

Jumping on the hype train a little after yesterday but always liked Deulofeu as a player. Inconsistent yes, but when he delivers he delivers big. Also think Gana from Everton would be good.

That inconsistency is the reason he wouldn't succeed for us. Looks at how the fans have jumped on Eriksen despite being consistently world class for us for years.

No, you're not alone on Dier (y)

"Going mental" may be a slight exaggeration though
My major concern about him is his fitness. And it's not only my concern I am sure.

Hmmm. I respectfully disagree. That's mega optimistic IMO.

We need at least one CMs this summer. I'd like Grealish, and I'd like someone who can sit deep like Rice or Ndombele, though I don't think we have much hope on either

Dier needs to rediscover his athleticism. He was lighter, quicker and more mobile a few years back.

It may be that he's changed, physiologically, and that it's not going to happen. If he could though, then great - he's actually a pretty good passer of the ball

You can sometimes question his ability etc, but you can’t question his discipline. Personally I’d like him back after his illnesses and injury as a fixture.

Agree 100% on Grealish (and Brooks). He's been a player I've been banging in about. I just feel we need to really trust in what we've developed they might not all come off ie Amos Onomah Skipp...but I am pretty certain they will.

We have a strong base with Winks Dier Sissoko (Alli can easily do a shift in a 2 man or 3 man midfield, he's already indicated he likes the role)
