Tangential but a good point in Lingard's players' tribune piece echoing the thoughts of some here, sometimes these things take time:

"We all got different paths in this game. There’s so many things you don’t see. You know what’s so crazy to me? I was sat in that Marriott back in 2012, eating my room service chips, and I was barely getting a run out for Leicester. And in that same dressing room you had Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane, and they were going through the same struggles. We were all just trying to get a game in the Championship.

"Six years later, we’re all walking out for the World Cup semifinal, representing England.

"How do you explain that?"

Writing them off at 19-22 because they struggle getting time in the championship like Lingard can be short sighted. Obviously doesn't mean everyone will turn out great and you will have to cut your losses at times but just because they aren't dominating as young players doesn't mean they can't/won't be good enough.

Its happened so many times now that you would think people would realise it but they don't

The fact that the club stood by Pedder after the second operation on his arm and he did not play for 6 months after that tells you how much the club rate him also Rayan Clarke has had problems in the past.

Next thing for Freeman is to play more often.

one example to the contrary is tsaroulla, though maybe not viewed the same as it was an off-the-field injury. would also seem that he's had to give up football altogether as he's still without a club from what i can see? if fit he would have plenty of offers so can only presume that's the case, sadly.

I’ve just spoken to Thimothée Lo-Tutala and he confirmed that he and Tobi Oluwayemi have signed a two-year scholarship with Spurs. He has no idea whether Isak Midttun Solberg has signed or not, but I expect he hasn’t, as it would be very unlikely that we would have three keepers in one intake.

Would like to know more as to what happened and what exactly was his injury and has he given up football or not.

He was a good player who was liked by a lot of people on this forum.

Phil Ifil is an interesting one. He was rated extremely highly as a youth and got to make his debut quite early (17/18) but if I remember it was because we were really short of right backs at the time. I think Stephen Kelly had gone, Stephen Carr had gone, Mauricio Tarrico had gone, Dean marney had reverted back to central midfield.etc
Ifil did okay on his debut against Liverpool, although was lucky as he committed a blatant foul in the penalty area that the ref missed, but his subsequent performances were a little lacklustre. We brought in Noe Pamarot from Nice which was a really strange recruitment decision and Ifil had to settle for being no.2. By all accounts that I've heard Phil took losing his place badly, got sulky, and never really recovered. He seemed an angry and bitter player for quite a while afterwards.
Phil got his chance because Kelly who would have been next in line to step up was injured; Steo later reasserted himself. Then we bought Gunter pushing him even further back in the queue.

I often wondered if Phil was the youth team playing who was involved in the Anthony Gardner roasting incident, and if so how that played out at the club. But the real damage seemed to be done by his loan stint at Millwall. From having been precociously confident he came back treating the ball as if it was a live grenade.

Just spent a hour watching the U9s at Mk dons ( my son is the ref ) and I have to say spurs was on a different planet to MK.

The close control and dribbling was unreal and some of the finishing was top.

Being a ex academy scout myself the talent in these 15 spurs kids was wonderful to see and if we can get 5 or 6 up into the U16s then we’ve got some real exciting kids to be watching.

Great morning of football.

The Sun reporting that Hoffenheim and Monchengladbach both want Onomah.

Probably the right time to sell him if, given our lack of midfield options this season, Poch wasn’t interested in recalling him.
