We have to scout the right players... but we also have to prepare ourself to pay big money for the right men. Hot prospects alone can only get you so far...
I agree. Can take prospects in a lot of positions but I feel like a kvara left wing would completely lift the team. Go all out for him or someone of his ilk. Whether we could get Kvara is another question but our left (and to a lesser extent right) forwards are where we need to plough most of our budget.

What about Gourna-Douath @Ghost Hardware ?
Excellent pick bud, I’d completely forgotten about him tbh. Probably Solzburg’s most exciting talent along with Gloukh and Karim Konaté. We had links to Gloukh a few months ago and I think it’s a pretty good bet we would have scouted all of them if the reports are true.

I got to be honest I’ve only watched Salzburg in the CL this season so can’t really give an in depth outline of how he’s developed and i don’t like basing an opinion purely on stats. I watched more of him last season. Another somewhat under the radar talent which is surprising considering he’s been a starter since he joined last season. They broke their transfer record for him which tells you how highly they rated him. Also tells you how much they would probably ask for if they were going to sell him.

He looks a very very promising indeed tho, very strong physical player who excels defensively. From his positioning to his tackling, he is really very good across the board. He’s quick too. One of things that has impressed me most when watching him is his work rate, the guy never stops. On the attacking side of things he’s a very good progressive passer indeed. My only question with him is his ability on the ball. He’s very physical so it’s not easy to get the ball off him but he doesn’t strike me as a natural dribbler and he will more depend on his excellent passing range to get the ball up the pitch. But I haven’t seen enough of him this season as I mentioned so he could very well have improved this part of his game. He will never be graceful but he is very strong.

When I’ve watched him the CL he’s been one of the stand outs for them so it’s clear he can perform against top teams.

He is still raw tho and isn’t the finished product, he would go into the prospect category rather then the starter one. He needs to move to a tougher league where he is playing week in week out before we know how good he really is but the signs are there. He should certainly be on our list tho he will probably be very expensive.

Also names I didn’t mention yesterday that should be added to the prospect list.

Angelo Stiller - Stuttgart - 22
(if I have time I want to do a profile on him. Not sure how he hasn’t got a call up this season. Seriously class player and one I hope we are looking at)

Samuele Ricci - Torino - 22
(Someone mentioned him on the other page and I agree with them. Very silky player who I fully expect to move on this summer. Like him a lot. Will also profile if I have time)

Hugo Larsson - Frankfurt - 19
(He’s more a CM than a DM but I also think his skill set would suit the DM position and he has played there in the past. I also just think he’s a very exciting prospect)

Ismaël Doukouré - Strasbourg - 20
(He’s actually a defender but his so fast and good on the dribble T hat he has often been played in DM this season.)

Nikolas Scattlberger - Rapid Wein - 20
(This is a complete wild card option. I haven’t actually watched him myself but I’ve read some incredibly positive things about the kid. I’m listening him more to remind myself to make an effort to watch him)

If I could pick any type of profile for us it would be Rodri. @Ghost Hardware who are the players most similar to him? Thanks in advance
Yeah I got to be honest bud, i don’t think there is one. Rodri is a unique talent. For what it’s worth I did suggest we get him before City did 😂.

No but in answer to your question I think trying to find a player like Rodri would be near impossible. He is just that good. João Neves is one of the most exciting young players in Europe who is not already at a top club in that position currently. He’s a joy to watch and statistically he backs it up but he isn’t Rodri. He’s 19 and whilst he is incredibly developed for his age he’s still a prospect. He could be world class in his own way tho but it depends how he adapts to a top 4 league when he moves this summer, which he will. I also would add that I don’t think the other players I mentioned like Varela and Andre etc should be dismissed. There are some very good options out there but trying to find Rodri mk2 might be too hard a task.

Already talked about him in his thread. I like him, classy player. Physicality is a question mark for him in this league but in regards to his skill set it makes sense that he’s on our list as per ITK.

I think Ghost deserves a badge of some sort to credit his outstanding knowledge and input to this thread, and site.
Like "SC's head scout" or something.

Massively appreciated member here and I thank him for his posts.
Absolutely agree with that.

I appreciate that you could have gone with “deserves a badge for having no life and watching too much football” but decided not to, so thank you!

Creative, pacy, dribblers who can pass. We still also need a good passer from deep midfield.

I'd rather use Donley as a Maddison understudy and go big on 2 dribbly wingers tbh. We're still miles off up top, and I think Ange knows it.

Being realistic I think Donley needs a first team loan next season. I just don’t see Ange suddenly giving him enough game time or relying on him even in the cups. I think he needs to go and play week in week out to help his development.

I think that's probably right. I was just emphasising the need for two top forwards rather than one really.

It just concerns me that we will bring just one wide man in and a Maddison alternative rather than two.

Tbh if not Donley then Kulu can have minutes central (aware he wasn't great tonight)

Problem is we need another GK, and CM 6 and left sided back ups in defence, adding in another 3 attacking players with possibly 7 outgoings and that's an insane amount of work, plus the Euro champs.

I think Kulu would actually better suited to the 8 then the 10. Just a question if he can develop the defensive side of his game into that of a midfielder. I’m not convinced by him as a 10 but maybe he just needs time. We are also stacked for 8’s as I also suspect that’s where Bergvall will play so i really struggle to see where Kulu goes long term.

I honestly don’t know what is the best move. Like you say we probably need two new wingers possibly a CF and if Gio goes, which after tonight looks likely, another 10. And that’s before looking at midfield and defence. Makes sense why we would be looking at someone like Gudmundsson who is very versatile even tho I expressed my concerns re him as a 10. In general I would expect maybe one straight up WF and maybe one other attacker who can play in a few different positions.

So 6 players in? We have done that or more 3 times in the last 4 summers.

And a CF was mentioned by ITK.
Maybe it will happen if one of them is pushing a button ala Werner.
Seems like a lot of work though.
