I'd read that Nilden was a centre back and have checked again and I assume she's played there but a lot of info looks old; wiki says she's a centre back or midfielder! If she's a left back I understand why Summanen was moved, but with Buhler injured and Zadorsky on loan we sound short at centre back.
Yeah ignore the wiki page. We checked with the main Swedish journo and apparently never played there…left back, sometimes further forward, occasionally right back, but never played centre back. Bemusing really.

I do wonder if Robert is going to want to try her there, and maybe that's why its only a loan, to see how she does. Especially as we're short with Luana injured and Amy not at full fitness. I'd rather we just sign an actual CB however 😅 I think we may find out on Thursday if he is thinking this. He used the Sheffield game to test Eveliina there, he may use Southampton to do the same.

Yeah wouldn’t rule it out because Rob is a funky guy so anything seems possible, but even the experiment idea seems based totally off a false bit of info. She’s not exactly tall for example. Yeah, Thursday and even Sunday. Thursday, he might tinker and Sunday, he’ll want the best defensive cbs on the pitch for sure.

Yeah I'm really just basing it on the fact that Robert seems like the type to try these things, rather than I think it will/won't happen 😂

Zhang Linyan has been recalled by her parent club from her season long loan after only a few months. Not entirely surprising, I can't say I was ever massively impressed by her when she did play and with the signings we've made and others in form/returning from injury, I couldn't see her making too many appearances.

Man City today at Brisbane Rd - Kick off 2pm Available to watch on Spurs Play.
Tickets available on the gate.

This is a worrying fixture after getting smashed for 7 previously. I think we're a lot stronger now, but certainly no where near where we need to be to beat City, miracles do happen though so COYSW!

Job done. Was at the game today was predictably one way traffic the whole game 0-2 flattered us tbh.
I thought we defended well. Stopped them having their usual 30+ shots on goal and only had 4 on target. It was always a tough ask to beat a team like City, they’re miles ahead of us so any progress is good.

Particularly impressed with Chatli Grant and Amanda Nilden. They both kept Kelly and Hemp fairly quiet.

Oh definitely agree we defended very well. We really struggled to get out of our own half but like you say they are absolutely miles ahead of us. Grant was excellent but she is absolute quality so this comes as no surprise!

They seemed too keen to get forward when we did break a lot of the time. If they’d just kept hold of the ball slightly longer there would have been a better chance at goal. But their defence is also class and Greenwood was her usual excellent self so always tough.

I’m confident if we keep backing Robert and investing in a good mix of youth and experience then we’ll get somewhere good with this team. It’s already impressive how different we are to last season.

How good was Clinton! What an incredible prospect, Man U must be licking their lips at getting her back.
The own goal really knocked us, probably the most non-celebrated goal ever from the substantial quantity of City fans.
Wasn't impressed with the standard of refereeing neither. She seemed to be penalising us for very light infringements.

Squandered the few opportunities we did have & when Clinton went off, any threat we did have dwindled away. England & Thomas dropped back and it was self preservation mode.
One mistake from the defence not tracking Shaw and we were punished. To be fair she also had a free header, kindly nodding it back to our keeper.

Our defence saved our blushes and well done to them. City, just too strong.

I think we should do all we can to get Grace Clinton permanently. I have no doubt that we will try and be willing to pay big for her too. I think it'll all come down to whether United can see a spot for her within the next couple of seasons. Start talking now though.

I'd like to think they would at least start asking the questions.

On a side note, I looked on her Instagram after she posted something a couple of days ago and noticed her signing for United post, which was pinned to the top of her page (very recently too) is no longer pinned. I reading way too much into that and saying she doesn't want to be there anymore and wants to stay with us 😂

I jest, but I wish it was just her decision and it didn't come down to United. I think the fact they let Lauren James go would probably not work in our favour either. The last thing they want is for them to have let go another promising youngster who goes on to be potentially a world class player.

Hopefully she does want to stay and believes this is the right environment for her to thrive and can influence it. Who knows really.

That own goal really was bizarre. I've never seen anything like it in terms of crowd reaction. Neither set of supporters seemed to know it had gone in until the players were pretty much half way back over the pitch and then the City supporters just kinda gave it a polite applause 😂 I watched it back and it was a strange one too. Amy looked like she thought Bara was going to come (and to be fair, it did look like she started to) then took her eye off it/misjudged it and it just bounced off her.

Not ideal but I'll take that one error over the many many errors from the defence in the 7-0 game!
