It's time to reminisce, much has been made of this Tottenham team, did we underachieve, could we have done better? Did Harry not rotate properly?, all questions being asked but frankly who cares... We were some team man, really enjoyed this Spurs side for the majority of that season. We had 4 genuine world class performers who either at the peak of their powers or nearing their peak

Watching this brings back so much memories, the Bale and Lennon interchange goal against QPR, VDV scoring against Arsenal, Assou Ekkotto's brilliant pildriver against Everton, the 5-0 Newcastle game, good times, shame it ended how it did...but anyway enjoy :)

Too much imo. Was good but I'm enjoying this stage more.

That team was a beautiful, dazzling flash in the pan. This team could be a simmering delicacy where the flavours are still blending together.

Having been more than a little questioning about Pochettino's appointment, it's funny how I now recognise him as being our star player. If he were to leave for a European giant, the whole house of cards could come tumbling down. If we can keep him for a few more seasons (and keep this young team together) we could see something special.

Back to the 2011-12 team - how I loved thee

VDV pretty much defined that team for me. Also glad that Ledley got the opportunity to be part of a genuinely strong team. I was fortunate enough to be at the Newcastle 5-0, and that night will live long in the memory. The fans chanting for Harry, the freezing cold, the superb performance, and of course this:

VDV, my god what a beautiful left foot, like a wand.

Also Bale, such a special player and he has so much more than what he shows at Real Madrid IMO, that's the biggest shame.

Ade was a beast for a while.

Some great goals in that vid, was a good team. Should have finished higher. Much more individual talent in that team but not the team ethic and workrate of the current team.

My gawd, the Modric pass for the Bale goal at 3:14...I miss the little fella...:grumpy:

I said it so many times in his less happy times with us, I think he is a deeply troubled man and may well have been genuinely World class if he had just been a tad more this side of the line. Look at his goal against Chelsea, it was just like okay, I'm gonna score now...and none of you lot can do a damn thing about it. If he could have played with that drive, focus and determination, who knows what he could have achieved. Can't help feeling that it is a slightly wasted career, TBH.

Some great commentary, too...:eek::eek::eek:

ill never forget his debut against Liverpool. ive never seen a player try so hard, he completely dominated that game

Yeah I remember that game, we were all over Liverpool like a rash and Charlie Adam got sent off, no surprise there though.

Parker was a bit of a turning point really, it was funny that we had Modric and Kranjcar play in the middle against Man City and we got ripped to shreds but as soon as Parker came in to anchor Modric the balance of the side completely changed.

My favourite Tottenham team. I loved every player.

Adebayor was awesome (17 goals and 15(?) assists). Van der Vaart, Bale & Lennon <3. Modric & Parker was dominating league.

Kaboul was beast, King was great first half of the season. We had other great players too... Walker was Young Player of the Year. Gallas was underrated <3.

We underachieved. Given its quality that team should have won the league imo...

My word, Bale and Modric really were sensational.

Always get a pang of sadness when I watch them at Madrid now, especially Bale. They're just cogs in an advertising machine over there - so underappreciated.

Bale maybe, but Modric isnt for commercial reasons.
