The England full-back thought he'd cost £40m but moves elsewhere have led to Spurs adding another £20m to his valuation

I don't want him to go. I think he's a better player than Trippier, although he had a few iffy games at the end of the season. There's no way we'll replace him, make City pay or ideally keep him.

Well some of the prices floating around for prem players are crazy specially if silva cost £43mil ....yet Southampton want £50 mil for their CB.
However it boils down to
1.How much the player is worth to the club
2.If the player is moving to a rival or someone in the same league.

Don't want him to leave but if he wants to force the issue and stay in the prem, then I can see levy demanding more to the £60 mil mark or lower if to another league.

Whoever it is at City in charge of negotiating transfers must be dreading picking up the phone to call Levy as they know this is going to ruin their summer. Would not be surprised if they are drawing straws for privilege!.
Still think it will go through though - £55m + add ons.

There is no way we should sell Walker to a rival club however silly amounts of money they are able and willing to pay. He is an absolute beast to play against and is part of the best defence in the PL. He is needed to win trophies for us - not them. If he wants out he will have to go abroad.

He wants out, so that is an issue. 60 mill only worth it if you spend it well

Walkers great asset is his pace, which we always needed to get us out of trouble, but under Poch we are so we'll set up defensively, we need our full backs more in an attacking form, where his pace helps, but his delivery isn't as good as Trippiers.

Ideally you don't sell your players to rival clubs and Walker will improve City, but if we can get £40 million for him, we could use that money to buy us a better player.

No keen on the quote stating Walker is not clear on where he'll be playing his football next season.

Most of our squad have come out and clearly said they'll be wearing the lily White kit.

Don't want to lose the best RB in the league, especially to a rival, but He clearly wants a move away so up to Spurs to get as much as they can and replace/promote as best we can.

Seen enough of Walker-Peters, to know that, we have nothing to worry
about, and he can play LB.

A better right back than walker, who is regarded as the best right back in the PL, one of the best in Europe. For $40m, that would be willing to join us for far less wages than they could get elsewhere? All we can hope for is that we stumble upon another Toby. It's quite rare to do that.

Trippier may take his place and we have Walker-Peters, who needs an opportunity.

If Van Dijk is supposedly worth 60m, Walker is reasonably worth more with England tax, as nuts as that sounds. There are far less good, specialist full backs than centre backs.
