I understand that, but grass is a natural thing that likes to nit together when you lay sections of it together. Anyone who's ever had to lay new turf will know this. So just when the grass has settled and has nit itself together down the edges of the sections, its suddenly ripped apart again to make way for the NFL pitch. Eventually it might look like this pic below. I know that pitches are partially synthetic nowadays, but this has to a bit of a nightmare for the groundsman. Poor sod, no one ever thinks about that guy...
I think I've laboured this point way too much, so I'm going to leave it here
