So for all of Poch's words about rating CCV , he puts Dier into CD and leaves CCV out of the squad completely.
Wimmer should have replaced Verts imo, instead of playing him out of position at left back. Very odd.
Poch will never have an academy player getting his first minutes with the first team as a start in the league.

Very few brains in that team.

Also if Davies isn't injured that's just a bit of a silly defence.

Odd times.

But we've seen that in Poch's narrow system, those lock pickers find it hard against compact sitting defences. Maybe Sissoko driving past players around the box will open some things up...

Everyone finds it hard playing against compact defences. If you want Sissoko in the team for his pace and power then fine, but you need a creative player in there as well. We've only got 2 creative players that Poch is really willing to use in Lamela and Eriksen. We've got to have at least one of them in the team at home to fucking Sunderland.

I think we will be ok with that lineup, its a very different system to what we have tried before, Maybe Poch is experimenting with a different system, and why not against Sunderland. It's different to what were we see week in week out, but quite looking forward to seeing how we play. It will also be different to what Sunderland probably prepped for.

Poxch said in his presser after that Monaco game in mid week [?] that he wanted to see more intensity and that's certainly something we will see with that team.

You lot are a miserable bunch lol. That is still a strong team, just a little bit different. Why not wait and see how we play in the first half before being so negative

Sissoko for Lamela was always likely. As Verts hates playing LB over CB, it's possible Davies isn't fully fit.

It's more likely that Poch rates Dier as a better partner for Toby at CB, as Wanyama was the DM he wanted last year, and despite Dier's great success there, I think he might see Wanyama/Dembele as the first choice partnership.

So Wimmer is stiil missing. I think neither do Poch know where he is.

Carter Vicker on the bench in champions league but today we put Dier on CB and CV not even on the bench.

We have left back on the bench and CB on the left back.

Eriksen and Lamela on the bench while Son is on when he was the first to get off against Monaco.

I mean, what's that all about?

Davies can play centre back and Verts plays left back for Belgium.

Eriksen barring Stoke has been poor this season. Lamela on the other hand has generally been good but has done a lot of air travel recently and most likely not 100% fit. We didn't pay £30m for Sissoko to not play him.

I really don't see what there is to moan about... yes we're unbeaten in the league but as a team we haven't produced one fluid display yet, hence Poch utilising his squad.

This makes no sense. Vertonghen is not being dropped from CB, he is being asked to cover LB.

I should have added that Davies should be playing left back with Wimmer replacing an out of form Vertonghen. Davies wasn't great against Monaco but should be fine against a team like Sunderland .

Can't see us playing 3 at the back with them playing Defoe up front on his own. Only time we have played 3 at the back under poch iirc was vs Watford who were play 2 out and out strikers

Lots of pressure on Alli and perhaps Son (in the right mood) in this team to be the creative force. It can work with the runners they have around them though...

Why is everyone losing their shit..... !?!

It will be good to see a Dembele / Wanyama partnership. It's great to see one of our new signings starting in Sissoko. Eriksen has been horse shit this season and needed to be dropped.

He was never going to drop Kane especially as Janssen will be starting against Gillingham.

People acting like Verts hasn't played LB before? it's not as if he's dropped Rose to play him there. If he would have played CCV everyone would be losing their shit that Dier isn't at CB!!

I'm quite excited by this starting 11 and everyone says he keeps picking the same players and we have a squad and should rotate, the only disappointment for me is Lamela being left out but Poch see's far more than me on the training pitch.

Chill......
