I don't think it's risky, compare it to the only season we qualified for CL. We played 442 with modric and huddlestone and crouch and Defoe. Pretty much all season
well the formation is the same but the player selection surely isn't. huddlestone and modric were both excellent defensive players and excellent passers, so we could afford to play just those 2 in midfield. siggy is an AM being moved back to CM who's defensive and passing qualities are very much up for debate, and Dembele isn't as good of a passer as Modric and Huddlestone are.

David Pleat, Former Tottenham manager on BBC 5 live sports extra:Tottenham v West Ham (1945 GMT)
"It's seemingly quite an obvious first XI selection - they had to go with an attacking line-up. The important thing for Tim [Sherwood] is to get results early. It isn't easy to take over a team in mid-season. You have to get the respect of players quite quickly."

Glad Adebayor is back. Gives us something completely different to Soldado and Defoe.

You have to look at it from the coaching teams perspective, it's a cup tie & thwy want to play at a higher tempo so they have gone for players who are more experienced in pl hurly burly for tonight.
Eriksen, Holtby, soldado & lamela have been coached in a tactical straight jacket so far so he went for players who could take on board his ideas quicker

Nice to see our efficiency in front of goal still hasn't changed, no manager can change that. Bright start though

In fact I think he should have scored that chance.
