Analysis I know seems to think he will end up as a false 9/10 can create and is more dangerous outside the box or arriving late in it an instinctive finisher

The same way Harry Kane was never gonna be good enough for our first team based on his Leyton Orient, Millwall & Leicester performances.

Will never be good enough for the first team. Championship player at best.
Kane did pretty well at Millwall in the Championship and got a premier League loan off the back of his performances there. On top of that we had Europa league so it made sense to have a young player to play those games.

The gulf between league 1 and the Championship is huge. This is the first club he has got a feel for scoring. Would have been nice if they got to the Championship then we could have him loaned to a club that he knows and likes.

The decision should be made thinking of how his long term development is served. Would rather he got lots of game time then 5 minutes here and there just as he is starting to get a feel for competitive football.

No need to rush young players. How often are they hyped too quickly then given up on too soon?

Middlesbrough would be a good loan too. Wilder is probably going to have them pushing for promotion and they dont have any strikers really. All their options were on loan there last year apart from Watmore and he has long standing injury issues which need managing.

Finally getting a start for Ireland. Looks like he'll be playing in the middle of front 3 in a 343. 2pm K/O

RTÉ have in down on the right of the three, so we'll see. Hope he's through the middle.

He's been playing on the left. Probably seen the ball more than any of our attackers but it's all happening too far from their goal.

Just scored a lovely goal against Scotland with some great movement off the ball (and a stunning delivery from Obafemi).

He's looked really tidy on the ball too

Seems to really be going under the radar but I have real high hopes for him. He's following such a similar path to Kane, not that he will hit that level but another good loan next season will help. Ireland aren't great but to already be a regular for them at his age is impressive.

I agree, he's looking like a classic late bloomer. Whether it's maturing, confidence or coaching, he seems to be finally combining his cute movement with his previously streaky, but now more consistent, finishing. A pre-season with Conte who knows, he could actually be a useful player for us next year even.

His run is superb, would love him to come through, just hope someone gives him a chance at Spurs like Sherwood gave Kane.

He is a full international at 20 years old, not sure that's a late bloomer tbf!

Haha you know what I mean. He's not played top level club football at 20 and looks unlikely to before 21 either. No experience above league 1. Would love if he kicked on and proved himself to be a premier league worthy player. He has the talent

He's still 6 months younger than Harry Kane was when he got his first PL start (and first PL goal) for us. There's plenty of time for him yet.

It was good to see him play as a striker and not one of the "wide" players in a front three. One thing I've said about him since the first time I saw him is that he has great movement and timing of runs.

New Ali G article on Parrott: https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/troy-parrott-tottenham-conte-kane-24212541

Summary:
  • Spurs are growing more excited about Parrott living up to his potential
  • His family came out to MK to live with him last season which is believed to have been a big help
  • Parrott is very keen on breaking through at Tottenham
  • The current plan is for him to spend one more season out on loan in the Championship, with Swans Boro Preston and QPR all interested, and hopefully join the senior team the following season

Swansea interest dates back to the appointment of Martin, they tried in January.

More interest now but still not sure it would happen.
