Madrid fans leaving the Bernabeu and trying to get back in after the two Rodrygo goals. What's the worse example of that at Spurs - the Arsenal 4-4 game at the Emirates?

"I paid 250 euros for my ticket"

Here's an idea.

Don't leave the stadium until it's all over!

I never imagined I'd ever be saying this, but in the light of recent events, I'm going to be a MASSIVE Real Madrid fan in this years CL Final.

New rules seem pretty non sensical to me as well. If I understand this correctly, this would have lead to Arsenal getting to CL after finishing 5th in 2019 thanks to Tottenham (and Liverpool) getting to the CL final

Honestly having a fifth spot could be massive for us considering that in a year where Manchester United had a catastrophic season, Arsenal is still rebuilding, and no one else really stepped up there's still a pretty good chance we won't get top four. And this is before the fact that Newcastle is about to become the next Manchester city.

English clubs must have had the best combined coefficient for at least the last 5 years and been in top 2 for most of last decade. It basically means from season after next 5th will get you CL. And the other likely country will be Spain. Only other countries that obviously could challenge it are Italy or Germany.

It's not certain that it'll be England every year, because getting it one year makes it harder the next.

The cofficient is calculated by the average score of each team from that nation in Europe. So in a normal season, the scores of the 7 PL teams are added up and divided by 7. If we have an extra spot though, all 8 will be added up and divided by 8. The problem being that the average quality of those 8 teams will be lower.

Let's say it'd been in place this year. Leicester would've gone into the CL, and quite possibly gone straight out again in the league stage, doing less well than the other 4 teams. We would have replaced Leicester in the EL and might have done okay (but maybe given our league distractions not as well as they have in eventually reaching the ECL semi-final). And Arsenal would've then replaced us in the ECL. That would give Germany/Italy a better chance to beat us to the place this season.

I’m totally flummoxed by this I thought it was on Coefficient points gained. What do you mean by average score ? Literally goals scored ? I’ve been trying to work out how Holland are 2nd this year when they didn’t get a single team in 1/4 final of EL or CL.

Average coefficient score. So it's 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and a variety of bonuses based on rounds you reach. Netherlands have done well because their clubs have scored lots of points by winning Conference League games.

You can see the Netherlands have the second best season this year because all of their teams had fairly successful campaigns.

Cerefin responded to Klopps complaint about the lack of tickets for fans the wrong way. Instead of talking about the money they get from tickets for the final he should have talked about the tens of millions of Euros that Liverpool gladly accept each season from UEFA sponsors and tv rights holders who in turn negotiate the right to buy tickets to major UEFA events.

It's a lot like when managers complain about PL matches getting moved around for TV. Well, the tv money makes the PL the richest league in the world that allows clubs like Arsenal and Spurs to get invites to the European Super League to begin with.

Additionally, if 93.5% of the revenue goes straight to Liverpool, then they can basically just put the ticket price down to whatever they like if they pay the extra 6.5% to UEFA. Or even just give the fans who purchase the expensive tickets £200 or whatever off their season tickets for next year.

How can performance in Confrence league carry more weight than CL that’s ludicrous.

I see the point about 8 teams. Yeah that will make it difficult although this season we probably should have added another 20 points but for covid. But England will probably get the extra spot 7 out of 10 years maybe more.

You get bonuses for advancing to the CL group stage and each knockout round. For example Feyenoord has basically the same points as Ajax who went out in the CL R16.

So we already know the CL will be moving to a single table of 36 clubs with 8 games played. The news today is that the teams will be seeded based on the results of the league for the knockouts and that the rule where you can't play someone from your league in the first round goes away.

Also the losers of the playoffs will not drop into the Europa League anymore.

So now that the domestic season has ended all attention turns to Paris on Saturday. As i only really watch games involving spurs im not sure how these two match up. Whats everyone's thoughts on which way it will go?

Liverpool is probably a solid favorite on paper, but the negatives of Salah maybe not being 100% and Thiago having injury concerns are there. They've also been on an emotional roller coaster lately.

Real have the most in form striker in the world having the season of his life and let's face it they just seem destined to win the CL every time they reach the final. I think Madrid in extra time.

I'm hoping for a Benzema hattrick, Bale screamer, Modric with all the assists.

Unfortunately I could see it being a bad tempered and boring match. 1-0 to someone after extra time.

There is Roma v Feyenoord tomorrow night in the long, lost and lamented European Conference League final in Albania. 8pm kick off.

I’m looking forward to Vinicius jr v Alexander-Arnold, see how good a defender he really is. It may also cut off one of Liverpool’s attacking options.
