PSV 2-0 up against Helsingborg and should be through already. Do we meet them in the next round if we beat the Czechs?

Brann played a brilliant first half, particularly considering the obvious lack of competitive matches, but collapsed rather in the second. Not surprising seeing as Everton should be fitter, faster, stronger and mid-season.

Still feel a bit robbed though. Eirik Bakke's 'goal' in first half injury time could well have stood, he isn't impairing Howard much. Osman's was a cracker, Opdal had no chance. Was the ball over the line when Howard smothered it on that corner? I don't think so, but very close. And Anichebe was offside for 2-0.

The Bulgarian ref was awful both ways though.

At least I'm going to the Lane next week...

Yeah, we get them in the next round ok. I've watched bits and pieces of the PSV game and not overly impressed, with our movement, we'll be able to get behind their defence, cause Helsingborgs were able to do it and with all due respect, we're better than them.

OK, thanks.

We should indeed beat this version of PSV. I also watched bits and pieces of the game and PSV are not up to the standards from previous years.

Hopefully some of the other strong teams will head out in this round. Maybe Abderdeen can cause a rout up in Scotland with Kahn, Ribery, van Buyten, van Bommel and Sagnol all out? Rumour has it that Bayern may be forced to field their 41-year-old third-choice keeper as the reserve to Kahn injured his back while tying his shoelaces... Eek

Oops.

But no real surprises tonight. Villareal should beat Zenit comfortably at home, I think—playing in St Petersburg at this time of year is going to be hard work for anyone.

Everton made very heavy weather of beating Brann, so let's not be too cocky about tomorrow.

one of the german teams or psv will probably have the best chance of winning it alongside spurs. i'm not overly impressed with atletico.

zenit st. petersburg is a strong outsider.
