Yes, instils a winning mentality. It’s why City / Jose always placed emphasis on winning the league cup, why Jose was so emotional about winning the ECL last season. Massive steps for any team’s mentality to get over the line.

My personal view. We’ve not won a trophy in over a decade. We’re not above any competitive trophy at this stage.

100% agree. Winning a trophy so early in the season (league cup) sets you up nicely for the rest of it when you are able to fight on all fronts.

Bit like the conference league, we could have gone out and been the first ever winners of the trophy.

the ‘first’ one is always the hardest.

We shouldn’t be turning our nose up at any of them.

That’s why it was so gutting when we went out of the fa cup this season as we had a real chance of getting to the final.
