If we can sort our ground out and add another 14'000 then we should be able to break the top ten and begin our move towards world domination.

then we can offer our star striker a new contract (one that truly reflects his worth)

coz apparently Benty is only on about £35K a week

Good to see progress off the field which can only support performance on it. Amazing that we are going up seeing as the UEFA is such a poor relative of the CL.

I think you have to hand it to Levy that he's doing a good job at managing the finances of the club overall. Whatever view you have of football today, it is a money business and you've got to be able to navigate that. He gets criticism for his decision making skills with personnel and the like but if you screw up the finances, which is undisputedly the foundation of club success, he does very, very well.

Looking forward to the Levy-knockers responding to that ;)

A fantastic feat, considering we are the only club in the top 20 never to have played in the Champions League. our potential is massive. I hope one day that we realise this and go on to dominate both at home and abroad.

Levy deserves a hell of a lot of credit for those figures.

If the team can live up to it's potential next season and qualify for the top 4, profits will soar and demand for season tickets will soar.

Levy will then be left with no alternative then to make the stadium expansion his No.1 priority.

If you consider that this is just revenue and not balance then it is even more impressive. Considering that a number of those teams above us are massively in debt then it would see us far higher.

Incidentally, have they got the Juventus figures the wrong way around ?

Revenue is one thing but take away debts and it is a different story.

from a Sept 2007 Times article..

"According to the club, Ashburton Grove delivers £20m a season in extra revenue, but it comes with a £260m mortgage that costs £18m a year in interest payments. Although the board insists the debts do not curtail spending on the team and that the club has large amounts of cash at hand, their last accounts reported that close to two-thirds of their £53m bank balance was unusable under the terms of their loans. Over the past three summers the squad has shed high earners Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, and lost Edu and Ashley Cole to wage disputes, the latter for the sake of saving £260,000 per annum".

That is kind of what I was getting at. Liverpool are in massive debt, as are Real. A lot of those clubs who have higher revenues than us also have far higher expenditures. I would say we are in a very good position.

That actually is astonishing in today's money market that is Champions League football being the focal point of all the top twenty clubs ambition. Then as the previous poster suggests, we delve to find that Spurs actually haven't had the benefit of the Champions League cash cow and that playing in th UEFA cup can be a loss leader without tv and a capacity audience home and away.

So to confirm, Spurs are the eleventh richest club in Europe by the same means which the other ineteen clubs have achieved their positions by way of Champions League money and spin offs from that involvement.

We'll be even richer if we get into the Uefa Cup Final. Of course we should have done better than last year given we're in the CC Final.

Do Real and Barca still get bailed out by the government?

we actually made a fair old whack from the UEFA last year

one thing I always say (cos i'm that kinda guy :) whenever this list comes out is that income is not the same as 'rich'

for years for example CFC were clearly the rich club tho not no. 1 on the list

in a way tho income is a better indicator of long term wealth

incidentally when the new prem TV kicks in for next year's list we may find the prem is the 'new Champs lge' when it comes to money - tho of course the ones benefitting from both will be doing double good :)

That you make no money from the UEFA cup comes from when Millwall qualified, they played home and away against Honved and it cost them money. We make money because our games are on TV and with a large attendance, neither of which Millwall had the benefit of.

Levy deserves a hell of a lot of credit for those figures.

I wouldn't disagree with that at all but it's worth mentioning us the fans, I noticed that Saturday was Derby's highest gate of the season, does this mean that more Derby fans want to see us? wouldn't have thought so in which case it's Spurs fans taking up the full alloction and more.

With Support like ours when the board gets the club running properly potential becomes achievement and success.
Not long to wait now my brethren!

good point WS - the money comes almost 100% from fans - it's us who put the money in - it's up to Levy & co to spend it well
