I opened this threath with the hope to read that Mourinho was so pleased with Ledders that he has decided to put him in as CB.

the long break he has had, should allow him to play every Saturday

Would be interesting to know what Ledley's day to day involvement is, that reads to me like he is more on the fringes as a learning mechanism rather than being in the thick of it.

I hope so because our defending has been shambolic and I wouldn't want Ledley associated with it too much.

It won't be him.
Wouldn't want to scar a legend, starting to feel we need a miracle worker to help. DreaDing what calamitious piece of defending we do tonight.... sorry i try and be positive COYS?

I am curious to see how this works out for him, as he himself was a natural, and training for him was a few laps of Levy's swimming pool.
Of course, just because things were instinctive for him doesn't mean he can't teach them,
but he has always come across as a quiet thoughtful person who led by example rather than an active organiser.

Ultimately he will be judged by how good our defence performs, and at the moment, on the face of it, is not so impressive. Or perhaps we should look at the younger players like Tanganga who looked pretty good in his last outing. If he brings through 1 player as good as him, then maybe that is a good return.

I think this should be in the
Next Manager Discussion thread.

No it shouldn’t. I love Ledley, I really do, but putting an inexperienced guy in charge would be a disaster. We are a massive club now, we can’t afford sentiment.

Ledders must be a good person to have around as a mediator. He's such a calm chap (until he has 10 pints in him!)

Not only that but if he takes over now it's because things are a mess. Last thing we need is a guy with zero experience having to deal with that.

Can I ask what things are a mess? Is it a very unhappy dressing room? Chairman? Manager?

They are fine at the moment. The point is if Ledley was to be appointed it's because things would have turned sour.

God yea I love Ledley but absolutely no way should he take over, even for a few matches, he has zero experience as you say that would only happen if things are an absloute mess.

Ledley is learning. No way would anyone have a pop at him for the current defensive malaise.

I can't think that anyone would seriously suggest it. He wouldn't accept it anyway.

I believe Ledley has the ambitions of becoming a manager. I honestly believe he has the temperament to succeed.

It's certainly possible - who knows. All sorts of people with all different kinds of temperaments have been s success in football. I hope that he does well.
