Doesn't matter that he can't play in the wide positions imo. Conte will want to have flexibility by going 343 or 352 so we absolutely need another striker imo. It's also smart succession planning for Kane.

Son Kane Kulu

Son Kane
Eriksen (or another)

Kane Osimhen
Eriksen

Son Osimhen
Kane

Etc etc

Worth pointing out that this is from the Suns gossip section. The story is derived from quotes from an Italian journalist who I’ve not heard of Lorenzo Amuso.

I think we are building a squad, not just a team. So it allows us to rest Kane against some of the Carabao cup games and one or two others. And allows us to be flexible in our formations and how we play

Oh I agree, I think we need serious depth in the forward positions. I just don't see us spending 80m on one player who can only really cover Kane's position (and won't join if that's his role anyway) when there are a number of options who can provide depth across all three positions (Richarlison, for instance).

Amazing eventual replacement for Kane but as of now he really can't play all three positions (or is at least basically completely untried on the wing).

Probably the best young striker out there after Haaland, and imo much better than Nunez, but he's been playing as a target man for Napoli. His role is to pin defenders with his back to goal and bounce passes to the attacking midfielders - hence him being 1st percentile for progressive passes and only completing 16 passes per game.

Fantastic, fantastic player but not 100% sure how he fits unless Conte has got some smart Kane at 10 plan lined up and that's why he wants a Scamacca/Osimhen style target man.

People keep thinking that the “wide” players in a Conte front 3 are actually going to be playing out wide. Conte wants the wing backs to be the wingers, Perisic for example will be far up in the attacking third. I actually think what you said is exactly the plan and the only reason it hasn’t been achievable is because Emerson isn’t suited for the right wing back role. It’s meant Conte had to play Kulu in a more traditional winger role.

I think it’ll be a 3 up top where two players are pretty central and the other will be dropping into pockets of space. So this whole can Osimhen or Martinez play out wide is redundant because they’d be much more centrally positioned on the pitch.

I just pulled the first link that came up on Google just to get this thread started.

It was more based on the goats post last night that a lot of people thought it was Osimhen

Kane dropping deep to pick the ball up then pinging to Son/Osimhen, putting them through on goal.

A few smaller injures, but bar his shoulder (would hope that's sorted now) nothing major

Strange list but I remember he was wearing a mask for a while. So facial and shoulder injuries and covid twice but yeah nothign too major.

Think this is a really long shot, but he’s amazing - would be an incredible buy. Not getting my hopes up

Yeah freak accident after him and Škriniar collided with heads, his eye moved out of the eye socket. Plenty of shoulder injuries are somewhat of a concern since this is the most physical league but he usually doesn't stay injured for too long.

NICK VIC Tottenham ready to hijack Arsenal’s Victor Osimhen transfer bid after Gunners fail in £51m offer

From the Sun
Should probs mention it’s not actually the Sun reporting this, it’s a random journalist from Italy who I think has the same amount of followers as me.

The question is, could he play in Son’s position too if needed?

ie. Osimhen, Kane, Kulusevski front 3

If not then I wouldn’t sign him, we need a flexible forward.
I think he could work out wide either right or left in the same way Aubameyang worked for Arsenal. He’s quick and can beat a man, has great positional instincts and is great in the air, he’d score loads making runs in behind with diagonal passes and score a tonne of back post headers. I think it would work. Along with him partnering Kane or Son in a 2 or playing as the ST in a front 3. I really think he’s perfect and I absolutely love him as a striker, he’s the second coming of Drogba

And Son, Osimhen, Kulu. Loads of options like you say and I do think he could play out wide left, especially with a player like Kane feeding him passes in behind, this guy is rapid and his runs and attacking positioning are fantastic

Aurelio de Laurentiis absolutely loves him and believes he is the future of the club. He would cost more then Lautaro for sure, supposedly Napoli value him around €110 mil. I really don’t see him leaving this summer.

I’m terrible at our cryptics but as someone else said, thinking napoli then picking who we’d want most doesn’t exactly feel as though we’ve solved it. Would love to see a real link crop up.

I know Levy is frugal but even at that price, id pay that for me - he can help me with some chores I need help with. Not sure I can afford the weekly wage though.

Yeah I wouldn’t much about a shoulder in football really.
That depends on how well it healed.
Is a physical league it can still be an issue, what with contact and falling.

I dislocated my shoulder umpteen times before finally having surgery (private, not NHS) and it's never been the same.
I don't have a full range of movement and it still slips in the socket occasionally with simple movements, I've had to be careful with it ever since.

Now granted, surgery has probably come on a bit in 30 years and players have access to better facilities and rehab but it can still be a bit of a problem.

By all accounts, Traore slathers himself in baby oil because of an ongoing shoulder issue but in the other hand, plenty of rugby players have surgery and continue with no issues.
