Facebook fans help Stimac pick line up against Wales

Croatian Times

Croatia coach Igor Stimac has asked fans to help him choose the squad against Wales on Tuesday in the World Cup qualifier.

The former Derby County defender says he wants fans to get involved via Facebook ahead of the match in Osijek and has already asked them whether he should put Brazilian-born midfielder Sammir in the line up.

Tuesday’s match has already sold 15,000 tickets to the 17,000-capacity Gradski Vrt Stadium.

Is that the team? Its not very inspiring but what do you expect from the man who said VDV wasn't of the quality Liverpool demands

I wonder just how infrequently Milner has to play for Shitty to be left out for England.

U21s through, as soon as they scored I said to myself they need to get off the pitch...sure enough punches thrown from Serbians, racial abuse the lot. Danny Rose particularly irate. Serbia banned for sure. They even went for Pearce and Wigley.

Paul Ince and Clarke Carlise in the studio, Ince looks a bit shaken watching his son go through that.

Disgraceful Serbs, absolutely disgraceful. Agree with Ince's sentiments, should be banned for multiple tournaments for disgraceful scenes like that, laughable that Rose gets sent off for being racially abused. No doubt will be a little slap on the wrist for Serbia though. Well done UEFA and FIFA, your doing an amazing job.

Serbia need to be kicked out imo, their coaches were involved as well as the players and fans except the player in the no.11 shirt? Once english coach was being dragged away whilst fighting

BBC Sport commentator Alistair Bruce-Ball in Serbia:"After England scored their second goal their players went off to celebrate. They have no supporters in the ground so clearly they were going to be celebrating in front of some Serbia fans. Those fans took exception.
"Danny Rose got separated from the group and then he clearly got involved in a slanging match with some spectators. He felt he was being racially abused and there was stuff being thrown at him. Then some of the Serbian players and staff piled in - they didn't like Rose having a go at their fans. Then it turned into a mass brawl.
"England very sensibly tried to get off the pitch as quickly as they could. Danny Rose was actually sent off and as he left the pitch he was mimicking a monkey by sticking his arms underneath his armpits. He was very clearly making the point that it was very clever, this racial abuse.
"We are going to see quite how hard, or not, Uefa come down on this. I have never seen anything quite like that.

So the pitch in Poland is soaked by downpouring, heavy rain and the ball won't even bounce on it as it's so sodden because the roof wasn't closed!

What a farce. The game may not even take place.

At least not for another hour or more if they close the roof now.
