Personally would have gone with Foyth for Aurier and Lo Celso for Alli but still a strong team
Hopefully Moura and Son both perform as they rarely do at the same time
Alli back in his best position with a new manager could see him on his way back to form again
Looking forward to the Winks and Dier combination we've rarely seen

Did I read (or hear) somewhere that Jose asked Dele off the bat whether he was Dele or Dele's brother, and when he answered that he was Dele Jose told him to start playing like it. If true that's brilliant - a bit like what he did to Lampard back in the day.

Without GLC or Ndombele I'm a bit worried about who's going to pick out through balls and transition into attack quickly. Otherwise I like the team.

Whether the individuals are liked or not it’s very clear to me that you can see players are being picked for specific roles - which is something we have lacked.
As much as I admire Sissoko I am pleased to see him dropped - this will be unpopular but I just don’t think he’s good enough. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that (forgetting the results) our play also went backwards when Sissoko became a starter in centre mid
Agree but its a bit unfair as its also the same time Dier and Wanyama left the team leaving Sissoko paired with Winks which, as I've been saying for an age, left us without a recognised dm. Neither of them are good enough in that role.
If Sissoko was left to receive the ball and bomb forward with it, which is what he is good at, while someone else sits deep, I dont think we'd be in the mess we are now.

The one thing to watch for early on is how Winks and Dier handle Noble/Rice/Snodgrass pressing them in the center of the pitch. Both Dier and Winks have been very erratic giving the ball away under any pressure this season. It's too bad Eriksen's form has fallen off, as we could use someone in the final third to show for the ball when others are under pressure in the first 20 minutes of this game.

Not really. I can see why he hasn’t picked Lo Celso in a two away at West Ham and NDombele is injured.

Tbh I would moan if Poch has played Dier and Winks in there but that’s more because both players under Poch have been underwhelming for a long time or playing the wrong roles.
GLC has played against Atletico, Barca and Madrid away. He should be able to handle West Ham.

I was really unimpressed with Rice for the like 45 minutes or so of the Kosovo match that I watched. It seemed like he was nervous and unwilling to do more than sit in between the CBs and pass the ball back to them on the rare occasion he made himself available to receive the ball. I think we can find some success if we pressure him today.

Absolutely. He was awesome and nigh impossible to replace, albeit we never tried to replace him!

We kinda spent £55m on his replacement.

I read that he left in Jan because his body was falling apart and couldn't take the double sessions otherwise he would have stayed until the summer.

Aurier plays better Sissoko who covers for him on the right side well, hopefully Aurier can keep up his concentration somehow.

Reported in a few newspapers, so not sure how true it is, but I found it funny! And hopefully the kick up the arse he needed!

We all know how he can play, but hasn't been playing anywhere near as good as he should for ages now.

I’m not sure the boys are ready for Wet Spam’s Cup Final today, but as long as they play like they actually care and we come away with at least a point, I’ll be happy.
