I'm cautiously optimistic, but very dependant on incoming players. A couple of CB upgrades, one in CM a backup for HK and Gollini and Gil and I think that's a decent re-balancing. Skipp could be really important for us this season and Sessegnon might be given a chance. I don't personally think Nuno is here to play defense first football, but let's face it, whatever he serves up will be an improvement on Mourinho and we weren't far of CL qualification lasr season. I'm hopeful of top 4 and possibly a domestic trophy.

Absolutely no idea until we make some transfers and know if Kane is here on the 1st September. Far too early to tell.

I certainly don't think we are going to explode onto the top four scene challenging for major honours next season but we can certainly give an indication of our very serious intentions to do so in 22/23 and the improvement following the new administration and rebuild should be clearly on show.

I will quite happily settle for 5th place and a domestic cup or European Conference League success. After that when players have fully integrated and we have a clearly understood strategy and game plan then I see no reason why we cannot be up there scrapping with the likes of City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd every season for a few years to come.

I think we will finish 4th and I think there's a small chance that Nuno gets sacked despite getting 4th if we can get Patrici thinks he can get someone better

If we want the ECL only Roma should have the capability to stop us.

So 5th-6th and the ECL is my vote. I can see us not going balls out in domestic cups this season.

We can't compete with the current top 4 conventionally. They have better sets of players and probably better managers (except Man Utd arguably). Our best chance imo is to throw caution to the wind, and attack brutally and relentlessly. We may as well be swashbuckling and entertaining because we aren't going to achieve anything with a "balanced approach".

I went for top 4. I think our squad is better than what many on here think. Goal differential is a rough barometer of the overall quality of the team, and corresponds rather well with the final standings. Here is how the top 8 fared last season:

Top8.jpg

GD pretty much predicted the final standings, but with Spurs being the major exception: we were 4th in GD, but finished 7th. This suggests we had some bad luck with flukey results, and indeed we lost 4 points to WHAM's last minute wondergoal and the handball on Dier against Newcastle that never should have been called. Usually luck cancels out over the year, but not always, and I think we were a bit snakebitten. Combine that with JM's negative tactics and negligent handling of fitness, and I think it is safe to say that we underperformed, and that we can expect a reversion to the mean this season.

10th. i just cannot see how a club succeeds like this. our best player wants out, the chairman's a prick, the manager's a bit underwhelming, the fans are fuming and we've had virtually no time to prepare for the season. honestly it's sad because i want to be excited. i like nuno, he's a good guy, but i just can't make myself care like i have before. it feels like, with our best player trying to engineer a move publicly to the runaway leaders that we're miles from any tangible success. and i can't find solace in it being My Club because ENIC tried to use the club my grandfather took me to to destroy football (after 18 months of mourinho, an experience so excruciating a pandemic interrupting it came as a relief).

7th to 11th. We were absolute rubbish last season and lucky to reach the points total we did. It's very hard, near impossible, to fix that in a transfer window - you're relying on signings from the summer before coming good which in this case won't be enough as they've mostly already done well, they were just insufficient after our recent negligence. I don't see how the defense is going to be fixed in time for this season, sadly.

At the same time, we've lost one of our best players from last season in Bale, appointed a manager who's coming in with everyone knowing just how far down the list he was, and there's mass discontent in the fanbase which will turn completely poisonous if we start poorly - and we have a tough fixture list. What's more, Kane wants out, and however much he might say he can stay professional it's impossible to remain 100% motivated or on your game in those situations. We won't go down, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if we flirted with those bottom three positions over the first third or so of the season.

I'm very happy with the transfer rumours and ITK right now, and if Kane were staying long term I'd be optimistic for 22-23. But without him, we're going to be stuck behind the big clubs. The medium-term aim for me is to go back to consistently making the Europa League over the next five years or so while building a young squad that can in the long term make the Top 4 again. But that project is going to be undermined by complete toxicity unless something changes e.g. the resignation of Levy for his failure, or a very sincere explanation, admittance of the real situation and apology along with a drop in ticket pricing.

Title winners and I genuinely mean that.

I cant go into a season thinking ok wew ill lose 10 games therefore we will finish 6th. You go into every game wanting and aiming to win and you expect to win. It perhaps is idealistic.

I want that fucking title.

I say we could get in tip 4 only if United falls down. I don’t see Liverpool, Chelsea, or City having a bad season. So that’s our only hope I think.

As ridiculous as it probably sounds I believe Skipp could play a major part in a top four challenge.

We'll be replacing our weakest player in CM with someone who I believe will be our strongest player in CM. PEH will move further up with some of the workload taken off him and that platform may a!low one of Ndombel e, Lo Celso, or Alli to perform.
if we can land Gil and Ings that should be enough to replace Bale's contribution and a couple of the defenders we're linked with should help shut the back door.
probably still need someone to cover for Skipp/PEH but if we keep Kane for one more season I think that's a strong squad.

europa league qualification will be better than expected for me. Id say 7th is about what we deserve. we were closer to 11th than 4th last season.

I think 6th or above.

Based on the noises re transfers. Even if they improve the team in the mid to long term these things can take time.

What I want and am expecting in foubdations laid for a much better squad moving forward.

If Nuno brought us home 4th with what our squad will likely be and got the sack, I would be beyond apoplectic. It would betray an unsuitability for running a football club beyond any of the, frankly, considerable evidences of just that which we have seen at N17 over the preceding 30 years.

I don't really do 'expectations'. I do hopes (top 4) and I do fears (12th-17th). Reality typically (though not always - thanks Poch!) falls somewhere in between. So if we can extrapolate from that, I'd guess it'd be one of the two categories between. It's a lovely day out, so I've clicked on 5th-6th.

Scratch what I said earlier. If Kane's sold, the new signings don't immediately gell and we get off to a bad start with the fans turning on the club, there's a non-zero chance we could actually get relegated.

If we can sort our defence out with 2 new CB's and get a CM plus keep kane then I think we will get top 4.

The teams above us all need to strengthen as well. Chelsea, city and liverpool need a class striker.

I can see 5th to 10th being really close this year. It may take until the last game of the season to decide them all.
