Not that I don't believe you, or that he said this but when and where did he say this?
Not entirely sure.

I saw a video on twitter a few weeks ago of a Sky presenter talking about it and he relayed that quotation.

After my remarks about my dislike for all things scouse a few days ago there is a story on the BBC site about a Plymouth fan. He went to the cup game and during the match got news that his son had died. Heartwarming story about how he was treated.

The thing that shocked me most there is that his family TEXTED him to tell him his son had died. Surely that's worth a fucking phone call?

May be the daughter may not had it in her to tell her father about the news.

We don't know anything about the situation , so should avoid the subject.

Hi,

"The first call was from eldest son Terry that Daniel, who lived in Surrey with his mother, was in intensive care at Royal Surrey County Hospital, in Guildford.

"Obviously I was very distraught and struggled to hear him over the noise of the crowd," he said on Facebook."

My guess would have been that the above had an affect on the methology of contact.

Surely he would have been treated well wherever he was, not disrespecting Merseyside police at all but you would hope it was nothing that would only have happened in Liverpool.

This was my first thought, but didn't want to say it at risk of being called disrespectful etc.

I agree but the point of my posting the story was about human beings treating each other well at times like this - it just happened to be Liverpool in this case.
